Eh does Pulsar 180 UG3 have a choke? I can't seem to find anything that looks like one.

it's ok .. you can do it your self to change and check the spark plug condition.

After installed the both plugs, start the engine as normal.

Good AFR will ignite at first ignition without using choke... but if your bike is quite old than choke is necessary lah... at this point don't worry so much.

During warm up check your rpm at idle .... standard for pulsar is around 1400 +-100

Once engine warm up just ride as normal playing around with your rpm lah during your ride .... don't be too constant.

End of the day .. checked your spark plug condition. As long as the center elctrode area is clean then it should be fine and continue your ride as usual.

During every ride.. feel your engine temperature .. if you find or feel it's too hot from normal .. it's a sign of AFR too lean...

End of the day .. removed the plugs and check the plugs condition again.

How to adjust the AFR ...

will continue after you have installed your spark plugs and feel your ride .. ....

most of us here will later advice you on how to adjust your AFR ..... kekekekek

happy riding and stay alert! .. cheers!

bros, i went to some shops to survey for 2nd hand bajaj. cheapest is 2.2k for 180cc. but condition( outlook) quite bad. then i saw fbc plate selling at 3.5k. condition (outlook) ok. btw how to tell its ug1 ug2 ug 3 etc? very confusing. and internal wise wat should i check for? thinking of getting 1st hand but coe? *slap forehead*

roughly how much is a 2nd hand bike? so i wont get chop by them.. and this bike shop even recommend me tvs brand. say its better than bajaj. better fc and better top speed. 6k plus including coe.

How old is the FBC plate ? Mine is 1y old and is FBE, so I suppose FBC should be around 3y old or more ? If so, it's quite expensive...

For the differences between UGs, I can only ask you toread back the first pages of the thread, it's mentioned (unless Alvin is kind enough to post again his little text about this :o)

For the bike's conditions, here's the things to ask and check:

- how old is the bike , how old is the registration / COE ?

- what's the mileage ?

- How many owners did the bike have (ask for proof, everything is recorded)

- What work did the bikeshop perform on the bike before selling it : here, if they tell you change oil and all that basic stuff, dig further: tyres, electrical stuff, did they change any engine part, any parts at all ?

- Try the bike. Nothing is going to tell you more than riding it, so take it for a ride around the block

- feel the clutch, the brakes, the engine sound/noise, the exhaust pipe noise, take time for the bike to warm up and see if the gear shifting is smooth.

- Ask for the previous owner name if possible, sometimes we might know him :)

- bargain (ask for additional stuff if they don;t want to lower their price: helmet, engine crash bar, raincoat, free servicings for the future..)

As fr the part where the bike shop recommends another bike, well, what can I say... people will always tell you this bike is better than this one. Especially with an agenda to sell you somthing.. So at the end of the day, if he says that bike is better than the Pulsar in FC, then ask him what's the FC like and ask him for details. Then come here and compare with people riding that bike, that will help you make your choice. I only know the Pulsar so I can't tell how other bikes are doing against it, but so far i have not met a single bike owner that beats our Pulsar's FC :D

Also a very important thing: if you're new to bikes, take someone experienced with you before buying.

on the left side you can see the spark plug protruding out...for your right plug,it is exactly at the same spot on the right side...

but this time there is a rubber cover over the plug hole...once you lift up the rubber cover you will see a deep hole and your right plug is sitting inside it...

you will need a size 16 deep socket to remove your right plug...left one size 16 open wrench/spanner can remove already...

FYI the AF ratio we can only adjust the air part...the fuel part is controlled by the pilot jet...unless you can change out the pilot jet(which means open the carb, and in sg even UM has only 1 size for PJ) you can only play with the air side...

adjust more or less air to go into the mixture...

i think knowing how to change your own spark plug is an essential knowledge...

especially if you want to travel into m'sia...

Roger that :thumb: Thanks a lot Alvin, I'll try it in a bit and let you know how I did

Saw a yellow pulsar at pasir ris.. With side flaps. He said he got it from ah boy and asked then to fix or something. Those side flaps like the super4 are using. Should that be cheaper than indon's side flaps?

The stock choke lever comes on the left side handle bar. But it is possible that your previous owner has modified it and it on the left side below the carb.

i think for ug3 & 4, it's stock is not on the handle bar anymore. only on ug1 & 2, owners can op to change it to be near the carb.

Here is an FBC plate pulsar with reasonable pricing:

http://singapore.gumtree.sg/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-motorbikes-scooters-Good-conditon-Bajaj-pulsar-180-dts-i-for-sale-cheap-W0QQAdIdZ271638733

Shops will always be expensive. Try to source directly from a buyer. If you have time on your hands then you can look for those who are leaving the country and want to sell ASAP you can get a good bargain. Otherwise the ball park for 4 yr old pulsar is 2.2k. Condition of engine is more important that outlook. Some people may like to keep they bike shiny and polished but dont know anything about the internals of the bike and may miss EO change etc which is more dangerous.

TVS Apache 180 RTR and Bajaj Pulsar 180 are almost similar just like Coke and Pepsi. Just like Pepsi not that popular in SG. TVS not yet that popular and is new so you may have difficulty in finding spares etc.

I've checked with a printing shop near UM.

It's $8 for a polo tee be it cotton or dry-fit.

A4 size printing at the back -$10

Singapore flag on sleeve -$2.50

Small logo at the chest -$3

Total about $23.50. In bulk still no discount.. But I think if we need the pulsar font he might not have, so might need a pic for pulsarian at the chest..

Did they tell you what type of printing it is they do for that price ? I suppose it's not embroidery, but they are a lot of different printing techniques and from what I saw the price depends on that.

Also you've seen the t-shirts ? How is the quality ? something like the SBF ones ?

Oh really? Thats strange. Handle bar is so convinient. Why did they put it in a more difficult position in an upgraded version?
