Haha to be fair it was still a "controlled environment" and they don't really teach you to weave in between vehicles. And most of the time the traddic at CDC wasn't so heavy.

Wonder how you guys got used to riding in between moving vehicles? That's my number one fear at the moment because controlling the bike isn't a big issue for me.

better to over-estimate than otherwise. if super big lobang then move in between loh.. otherwise i think better to stop behind the car and wait. a few seconds difference doesn't really matter, but your life matters.

important thing is to get use to your bike first. don't so fast go and try stunts.. find an empty carpark and practise low speed control. that will help with your stability.

control yourself first. get use to the power and handling of your bikes for a few days. after you get used already, den try to cut traffic with only one vehicle on either your left or right... then slowly upgrade to cutting traffic with vehicles on both side.

anyway if the traffic is flowing smoothly, just reduce speed abit lah. if it's a jam, then just go slower.... need to be aware of cars changing lane suddenly or in case u hit the car mirrors. anyway if it's a jam and you are following behind a bike, dont follow too closely. u never know when they will jam brake.

Ride safe to ride another day! :thumb:

Thanks for the tips and sound advice guys. Hopefully i can join you all if there's an outing.

One thing i noticed though; there's ALOT of pulsars on the road now. Maybe its because im starting to notice this bike or it could be due to the sheer popularity of it. Either way i hope to feel pround owning one.

Posted

hitting car mirrors your first few days is granted :cheeky: my record stands at 3! one i knocked the rear plastic clean off but could fix back so nvm haha. when youre far away the gap looks too small, but as you near you find that you can squeeze through. get used to how wide exactly your handlebars + mirrors are; approach the gap slowly, make sure you can clear then accelerate through it. else stop in between and slowly inch your way through. worst off just wait between the cars, let them accelerate off first then go.

mm yeah ive noticed a significant increase in pulsars too; they should be even more popular than cbf 150s soon. i noticed UM brought in cbr 150s, thats in direct competition with the pulsars.. doesn't make much marketing sense. i think im the youngest pulsar rida around hurr.

im going to agl at 12 tonight at 12, anyone wanna come with 9021143two. should be last modification for abit

woohoo :) today is a good day.

i just had my seats re-wrapped at Eugene Saddlery. I must commend his worksmanship and quality. He will spend the extra 5 minutes removing and restapling that tiny crease when found. Quality of the new wrap was excellent, its waterproof and thicker than the stock wrap. Stock wrap creases when pressure is applied, and from naked eye can tell the quality is not that ideal.

I went to 2 other shops for quotes before approaching Eugene. Since online comments stated his slightly expensive worksmanship to compensate for quality. First shop (a few streets before Eugene) quoted $35. Second shop was beside LAB, quoted $30+++ but bad attitude man.. i'm never going back there. The second carrot-shops said 2 pieces (p200 is 2 piece seat) so charge more expensive.

However, when i went to Eugene, his quote was the cheapest... cos i realise he is an old friend... heehee.

Anyhow i recommend that pulsar bros go to Eugene for re-wrap if you require one :) He will also advise you on proper maintenance (armorall is bad!) and suitable materials for cat infested areas.

best is try not... u can be very skillful but if the car sudden lane change without checking blindspot, pokvin can deliver u to the nx customer (pizza).. its common cos if u wanan lane change b4 the other vehicle on the back come, u lane change to jus right behind the car beside u...

but if u wanan train, try at very junction when red light squeeze to the front. start training at low speed without pillion... if got pillion nid extra training! low spd with pillion tends to be harder to control ( like plank course with pillion).

jus my 0.02 rupiah cents

hmm hard to describe leh.. i chose the slightly thicker wrap. its kinda granulated. there are different types and colours. but i think black is still the best.

oh and to add on, I went to Motorworld to check out their RS Taichi Drymaster.. The newer version is of thinner material compared to the older version Drymaster.. quite sad loh.. will feel the heavy rain when it whacks you.

then while I was browsing, the sale guy came over, and confidently told me that they can guarantee 2 months no water seepage.. I was laughing inside loh.. my $25 GPR raincoat and $30 ProGrip raincoat both can last longer than 2 months.. rofl.. in the end never buy because of that guy's joke.

Right i'll take note of it. Its just that my route from UM back to hougang (without going thru expressways) would include going through farrer road, lornie road. And because i drive there often in my car i know the kind of traffic that freqeunts these roads.

Now no longer in my safe zone of 4-doors and a boot+bonnet. Its going to be on hell of an experience.

haha, was in there the other day, also kena snooked by the rainbuster@$49.99 deal, thought chua tio, but too bad i eat too much when young, cannot fit into M, i think maybe the pants can put one leg in la. heh heh. think the promo price is cuz they wanna clear old stock liao. dunno why small ppl don't wanna buy rainbuster. lol

nope, didn't ask 'em to call other branch.

Funny, their stuff seems to run small by one size. and if wear jacket underneath......shiok la, won't get sweaty in the rain cuz material thin thin, and won't get cold/pain cuz got jacket.

the dude was saying price might go up on RS taichi, cuz now jap yen machiam rocket, exponential rise. They each size not many pieces in the 1st place.
