Dear All,

For the couple of days, i have travelled a total of 400+km.

Just did a couple of pumps ytd to ensure that im able to calculate the amount of fuel i've put in.

For that i presume question on my speed, road i've travelled,(expressway, small road) and even traffic conditions (peak, non peak).

Below is as presented.

Day 1 : Fitness training Day

Total distance travelled: Approx 81 km

Road type:10% small road 90% expressway

Speed travelled: Average 110km/h

Min speed travelled: Average 90km/h upon reaching 200m mark

Max speed travelled: 139 km/h

Traffic light crossed :6 (stopped at 3)

Traffic Condition: Peak period for 45 km, non peak for 34 km

Day 2 : Classes Day

Total distance travelled: Approx 86 km

Road type : 30% small road 70% expressway

Speed travelled: Average 90km/h

Min speed travelled: Average 90km/h upon reaching 200m mark

Max speed travelled: 147km/h

Traffic light crossed: 12 (stopped at 4 )

Traffic Condition: Peak period for 43 km, non peak at 43 km

Day 3 : Enjoyment Day

Total distance travelled : Approx 150km

Road type : 20% small road 80% expressway

Speed travelled: Average 110km/h

Min speed travelled :Average 100km/h upon 200 mark

Max speed travelled: 149km/h

Traffic light crossed: 15 (stopped at 6)

Traffic Condition: Peak period nil, non peak 150km

Day 4 : Random Day

Total distance travelled : Based on odo 98 km

Road type : 20% expressway 80%

Speed travelled: Average 100km/h

Min speed travelled:average 100km/h upon 200 mark

Max speed travelled:145km/h

Traffic light crossed: unknown (travelled too many places to count them 15++)

Traffic Condition: peak period nil, non peak 150km

Total mileage travelled : 415.1

Total fuel pumped: 14 l

Previous fuel type : V-power Racing(M'sia)

Fuel Consumption on abusing riding = 29.65km/l

How do i call abusing riding?

Every gear shift was changed above 7k rpm.

No sudden braking occurred

Wacked full throttle full once road is clear or safe.

Hope this could help you guys out.

P.S this is not to encourage people to speed.

Speeding kills, that's not a thrill.

Ride safe people! =)

not sure about the NS but not recommended to use V power often...

and Vpower tend to combust faster and hence better power...

this will however also increase your consumption...

prolong useage of vpower has proven to cause the carb diaphragm to harden faster in the older pulsars not too sure on the NS but i think it will have the same effect as well...

occassional pump of vpower however is ok, to help to clear off carbon deposits...

Dear All,

For the test of slow riding to see if its worth to slow down considerable for the better FC

I have tried riding in a controlled situation where i did not exceed my max speed of 80km/h.

For that i presume question on my speed, road i've travelled,(expressway, small road) and even traffic conditions (peak, non peak).

Below is as presented.

Due to the snail pace, I could not complete my usual day stuff in one day itself, therefore i have cancelled a few plans just for this purpose.

One factor i have forgotten to add was weight in my previous time. As such as i have furnished my weight = 58kg no pillion for the setup.

Total distance travelled: Approx 85 km

Road type:30% small road 70% expressway

Speed travelled: Average 50 km/h

Min speed travelled: Average 40km/h upon reaching 200m mark

Max speed travelled: 79 km/h

Traffic light crossed :8 (stopped at 6)

Traffic Condition: Peak period for 30 km, non peak for 55 km

As this was affecting my income by the day, including the dying patience due to the speed. I spent a 2 days total for that.

Total mileage travelled : 85 km

Total fuel pumped: Approx 2 l

Previous fuel type : V-power 97 (M'sia)

Current fuel type : Shell 95 (Singapore)

Fuel Consumption on snail riding = 42.5 km/l

Apparently this FC is considered low for the speed im riding as i noticed there are people with better FC for this. However, this is based on the bike i have so..

Comparing to abusing riding of 29.65 km/l

and comparing to snail riding of 42.5 km/l

Difference to the FC was 12.85 km/l which is 30% increment in the mileage.

Hi everyone, I just bought a 200NS from UM this afternoon. Was served by David and it cost me $7482(insurace at $182) altogether. Prior to the purchase, i was also contemplating between Ninjia 300 or Fazer16 but the former is above my budget and the latter has less power compared to 200NS.

One issue of note, when i fired up the bike there, the engine would die when i gave it a little throttle. According to David, this problem will go away after you run-in the bike. Apparently something to do with the pistons. Has anyone had this problem as well? And any tips on overcoming it?

Getting the bike latest by friday and right now, it feels as if I had just passed my 2B. Afterall, it's been 12 years since I traded in my scrambler for a translink card. Looking forward to future meetups and whatnot. Chers!

Double post, please delete.

probably due to cold engine .. the engine is not warm up accordingly .... pull choke will helps to keep the bike rev lively to warm up ... once the rpm starts to increase close the choke and let it idle naturally .... this issues happened on some NS bikes in India too during cold start ... do let UM mech aware of this when it occurred often cos using choke is meant for cold start n older engine only .... cheers

Thanks for helping out here. I'm not too sure if it's just a case of no fuel. Actually David did give me a technical answer to this problem but most of it went over my head. I suppose i can ask them at UM again when i get the bike.

To all 200NS riders, please do note that when you go for your inspection in 3 years time, you might have to put back your rear mud flap...cause that is your stock configuration...
