Looking at the CNA posters, i have to say i do see where the malaysian goverment is going with this implementation. after all, the petrol is subsidized by the malaysian goverment, using malaysian's fuel. It might come across as a slap to the face when other parties come along and enjoys the benefits which are for their own people.

 

I do strongly feel, however, that the implementation is done very poorly. Foreign registered vehicles not allowed to pump at station that are within 50 km of the borders? nothing is stopping anyone from pumping petrol further up in johor, thats still subsidised by the goverment. what they are doing is also harming their commercial industry. Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak or KOMTAR for short, it definately lies within the 50 km barrier. City Square too.

 

For me, filling my tank in malaysia is my way of sticking a finger up the asses of the singapore petro-chemical cartel. that, and sticking another finger up the tobacco industries' asses.

 

Now it seems like i will have to go a further distance to fill my tank. What rest point would that be... Kulai? Senai?

 

i guess i need to say my goodbyes to the friendly chap who mans the Shell station on the homeward bound route on thursday night.

Foreign registered vehicles not allowed to pump at station that are within 50 km of the borders? nothing is stopping anyone from pumping petrol further up in johor, thats still subsidised by the goverment.

The new ruling is intended to prevent foreign vehicles from entering M'sia just to buy the heavily-subsidised fuel. This is a way for the M'sian govt to cut its fuel-subsidy bill without affecting M'sians. This is an interim measure while the M'sian govt looked into ways to reform its subsidy mechanism.

 

The problem is mainly caused by Thai-registered vehicles that come into M'sia just to top up fuel, but the govt has decided to extend the ban to SG-registered vehicles as well. The move was not targeted at tourists or those who are genuinely visiting M'sia.

I think 3cans of paint more than enuff.... only 9 pple spraying wat. I only DIY on 1 bike for showing purposes ONLY. the rest have to spray urself.... if not every bike I spray then should call the session HUDIY session liaoz.
