Hello pulsarians, was wondering if you guys can help me. Wat is the normal rpm when the bike hits 100km/h, and I felt my engine passing away anytime plus its very noisy. Wat could be the problem or is it normal, wat can i do to rectify this problem.

Its normal for the noise when its 100km/h.

We're class 2B bikes. Can't expect much.

 

My rpm:

80 - 6

90 - 7/7.5

100 - 8

depends on what is your sproc set up

u know what are the sizes for your sprocs?

noisey as in what type of noise?

wind noise going through your helemt

or engine clinking those noise?

Its normal for the noise when its 100km/h.

We're class 2B bikes. Can't expect much.

 

My rpm:

80 - 6

90 - 7/7.5

100 - 8

cant expect much unless u have a pulsar with a 2 stoker engine lol.

by performance do u mean top end speed, how ur bike performs in normal daily riding, improve fuel consumption etc?

if its noise.... check ur chain condition too loose will cos a lot of unwanted noise. rough engine vibration jus downsize ur rear sproc to ease e engine stress at high rpm... but remember if downsize ur low end will b affected, my recommendation to u is if u do pillion(regardless p180/p200) rear sproc jus -1t if u dun -2t still ok manageable

 

for improve performance wise thr r a lot of thgs u can change fr smallest carb fuel pin to biggest racing exhaust(illegel).... qns is do u dare?

ok peeps i have sent my order to my contractor who will be on the plane in 30mins time.

have ordered 5 sets of rear drum brake shoes, 1 front brake pad (for spare), 2 shaft and sprocket o ring n oil seal, 1 set of engine block dampers.

goods will come in 2 weeks.

will update again.

Did you get your bike from UM? if yes no worries .. go back to UM to rectify the problems. It be caused by small issue to very big issues when comes to noise. How old is your bike? If I'm not wrong yours is P200, right?

 

Chain loose cab be adjusted DIY if you have the tools or go UM if you do not want to dirty your hands hehe

 

If need to change then change don't waste time anymore.

 

Stock teeth 14:38, you may opt for 14:36 as UM now have that size ... this will make increase your speed at 8000rpm.

 

If you can afford than opt for SINNOB 15:39T hehehe No Heat, No Noise, No Vibration & More Power

 

Spark Plug yes change to NGK platinum CR8EGP or CR9EGP it will improve the combustion. These spark plugs work well with Pulsar. If can afford use NGK Iridium CR9EIX.

 

Noise on engine or exhaust .. hmmmm lots of factors there my suggestion just go to UM and ask them to check thoroughly.

Find Jason and mech Ah Tek if can or the other 3 mechs I did mentioned .. your bike wil be in good hands.

Perforance as in smooth ride, fast reaction, long dragging of each gear and powerful throttle? Can all these be improve?

haktek : overhaul depends on what needs to change.. the more the more ex.

mine was 1k.

 

shawn1: U can survey from shops which have pulsar. UM most prob 2k++. I saw a pulsar for 1.8k to 2k along the shops near UM last time. revhappy got his for abt 1.8k i think or 1.6k.

@shawn1: I got mine from SBF classifieds section at 1.5k. I got it cheap because the owner went abroad and transferred it to his friend's name and the friend was not using it so waste keeping it and paying the road tax, parking fees etc.

 

But the bike was not in perfect condition, I had to change the tyres right away. The exhaust had a crack and the engine was leaking oil from the head. I have fixed all this one by one and then had to buy the box and bracket. So you can say it cost me about 1.8k for everything.

 

I think if you get the bike 2k-2.2k and its in perfect condition then its a good deal. I dont think you can get it for any cheaper. COE remaining itself is worth about 600$ if it is a 2006 model so its worth. Compare it with a phantom which is the only other bike in 2B class that is worth considering( I dont consider the cubs like wave and spark as bikes :) A 2002-2003 phantom goes for 1.5K+ and its tank can fit only 12 ltrs compare that to our 2006 pulsar 180 with 18 ltrs tank

V48L Astra? right? Saw a couple of bikes fitted with it..rack should be able to fit..if not just use the givi monorack HR4 that comes when we bought our bike..its the plate thats the issue which im not sure..i think coocase plate is universal.. ....im planning to get the box too(maybe next month)...breadman..u know how much for the V48L Astra Luxury with the remote n alarm that chiap lee/219 offering plus installation?
