just to share .....

 

Did my own DIY chain oiler cost less than $8 (not inclusive Scotoiler chain oil) ... not 100% perfect but it does the job hehehe .... will DO IT better once I found quality accessories ... e.g. syphon, 4mm drip valve , and 4mm good tubing and etc ... but in the mean time will stick to my $8 DIY oiler heheheh

 

Items used:

 

1: Unused Medicine Plastic Bottle x 1 pc

2: Aquarium Tank Air hose x 1m

3: Plastic Air Valve x 2 pcs

4: Plastic Hose Connector x 2 pcs

5: Flexible Wire x 1m

6: Cable Ties

7: Hot Glue or Silicone

 

Total cost = less than $8

yes ..

 

the chain will be kept lube always ... there's always a pros and cons on which to opt for .. wax or oil.

 

Some said by using wax will not messy your rim .. true? .. hmm not so also. On other cons .. the dirt and sand tends to stick more on the chain and sprocket.

 

Some said that using oiler will messy your rim .. true? ... yes but has the pros on the other hands ... much dirt and sand will flung away from the chain and sprocket easily too .

 

So on other words ... both choices whether wax or oiler, you still need to clean and maintain the chain and sprockets to have the life span more longer.

 

Oh by the way .. to maintain your chain and sprocs life span longer, wise to oil or wax every 300km and wash thoroughly clean 3 weeks once most .... if your body need to scrub to clean fresh, your bike also needs that attention lah hehehe . ... my share only lah.

already saw numerous bikes at UM for overhual cause their owners did not follow the recommended mileage for engine oil change

and they just ride and ride until the piston,bearings etc inside the engine jam,broke,disintergrated etc

some also cause not enough engine oil and they just continue to ride...

lets take the hard lesson learnt from others so that we do not make the same mistakes...

I think P180 is better in that way because it got chain cover. No dirt or mud can get in.Also Rims dont get messy. So wat is the chain lubricating interval for P180?

the reserve red light litted up when we turn the knob to reserve? if under normal, means pointing up. the red light shoud not light up right unless we turn to reserve?

the light only lights up when your main tank is low ie 2 bars or when you rev your engine to the red line

even if you turn your fuel knob to reserve the light will not light unless your main tank originally low on fuel and the light is lighted before you turn your knob

 

recommended is 20W50 or equivalant EO

EO brand wise there is a wide range being used here in the forum

from amsoil to castrol to mobil etc

 

can get catrol full syn 10W40 at AGL for $40RM

UM selling mobil mineral 20W50 for $10

mobil 1 full syn 10W40 for $22

 

km change is roughly 2k-2.5k

some change every 1.5k

Yeah mine I change every 1.5k coz my bike 5 or 6 yrs old.My mech told me the most important maintanence part for pulsar is EO.You can almost heck care other parts but regularly change EO and yr bike wont give u problems.Correct me if im wrong.
