Don't worry, I couldn't do it nether at first haha :shy:

(This is to open the panel on the battery side, that's the side where your side stand is):

1. put the key in, turn the key to open position. Leave it there.

2. with left hand, grab the panel by putting your fingers below it, at the top left corner. Pull out gently (the panel is inserted with a sort of spike in a rounded rubbered hole on the bike mainframe, you want to pull it out to free the panel)

3. Once done, keep you hand at the top left portion of the panel and with your right hand grab the bottom right side of the panel.

4. Using both hands, SLIDE the panel to your left. You freed it from the mainframe on the left, but your panel is still attached at its right side. If when you slide it it's not coming, don't worry: a. check your left side is free (you should be able to pull the panel out and see the spike inside that was in the hole) b.push a bit the panel against the bike with your right hand and at the same time, slide again to your left.

5. Once you dislodge the right side, the panel is completely free, remove the key (you might use it to start the bike while checking something in it) and put it far away so you don't step on it or scratch it.

-> the trick is to use gentle force, when you free the panel completely, study the two holding mechanism and you'll understand even better. On the left it's a spike inserted in a rubbered hole, on the right it's a hook mechanism, you slide the panel under it to hook it stable.

When you put it back, put the key lock in open position and repeat the above steps backward (start with inserting the hook on the right, then slide to your right and push to fix the left corner) . Turning the key to off position will finish the work.

Please be patient, it's more complicated than it looks from outside because you need to practice and understand what's happening below the panel. When you see others do it (specially mechanics) it looks extra easy, but it took me a few tries to start getting the handle of it. At first I thought it was really really annoying, once I even spent about 20min trying to put the panel back - crazy...

Now it seems super easy to me but I remember it took me a while to get it so .. gambatte !

Since we're on this topic can anyone teach me how to remove the seat. I took out the battery side cover and couldn't find any lever or whatnot.

Once battery side panel of the bike is removed, look at the right side of the battery location. You will see two loops at the end of wires: on my P200 one is blue and one is yellow. For my bike, the yellow one if I pull it free the pillion seat, the blue one frees the main seat.

I recommend when you pull these loops-wires to be gentle. You need to pull with conviction but don;t go Rambo on them, sometimes the wire stretches but doesn't release the lock so you have to relax it, send it back to it's original position and pull again. Another help is to push the seat downward and upwards to release whatever weird positioning that might prevent the unlocking. In other words, play a bit with it, and pull the wire again.

Sometimes you pull the wire, it releases the lock but you don;t notice, so always grab the seat and pull up to see if released.

Mr. Gaban, can I get the contact of the Malaysia super-cheap tow truck please?

Maybe someone can give him the number of Ah Heng (ex-UM mechanic now open shop in JB),

Maybe can check with him on the towing option, cos previously on cameron trip, breakdown bike has to be towed to the train station and then transported back by railway train.

Just my suggestion. Maybe bro gaban has better options.

btw press the back in while pulling the front out, this is to prevent the back catching part from breaking. then slide the cover. do it slowly n gently, i find the cover catch is very delicate.

for the seat, ,u need open the side, forgot which side, find a loop wire and pull it. u'll hear or feel a tug then ur seat will eject.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

a friend i just knew went dont know which workshop and was told his throttle cable break, toll $30, service+cable change $40. dont know what else got change, but he say the mechanic took out the whole tank.

downsize= more spd?

wads stock sprocket ratio and sinob's?

i go 90% expressway too...but my 650 onli... i go 90-110kph most of the time:/

Bro, your's is P200 and mine is P180 so I think 650 for P200 is good fc.

Regarding downsizing of rear sprocs. It will reduce the RPM at any particular speed for a given gear.

So with stock rear sproc at 100 kmph rpm will be 8.5K that can be reduced to 7-7.5K. So it will be less stress for the engine.

But the downside is that the pickup at a particular gear will reduce. But that is ok since you can delay the gear changing and make better use of all the 5 gears.

So earlier you would change to 5th gear at 40 kmph, now you can change at 60 kmph.

Our stock sprocket and gear ratios are designed for indian city traffic riding where mostly people ride at the max 40-60kmph.

Regarding Sinnob I believe it is already lower than the stock. The experts can confirm as I am yet to change my sprocs.

Cheers!

Nemesis is one of the organiser, so they should have made some contingency plans for such scenario.

Maybe just give him a call to know more or they have explained during the pre-trip briefing.
