Hi peepz,

Came in to say hi. Think quite a handful of peepz know me ya.

After reading all these, I like to share abit of what I've learnt recently.

I jus changed job and got a little knowledge of battery so lets spar.

Your "Dry Cell" actually is refering to Maintainance Free or MF. Tentatively is similar to car type.

Just tat for bike MF needs to pour in the electrolyte ourselves and wait for 15mins after the chemical reaction become stablize ( ie .. the bubbling finishes) then seal up the batt.

I would say currently the Traditional Wet type is seldom use in today's Singapore context except for Commerical vehicle like Truck & Buses.

There is another type of battery know as Spiral technology

http://www.vimet.eu/spiral_cell_motorcycle_battery

The key thing about a battery is the CCA (cold Cranking Ampere) where helps you to crank up your bike in the morning.

So Having a High CCA is very important. If Needed use a Battery Analyzer which can tell the CCA level besides only the voltage.

1 very common misunderstanding when after changing new batt is to ride home and throw the bike aside. That is a no-no

you should go and ride around, have some tea. Ride up the highway. Let the electrolye acid have time to react with the GlassMatt and lead fully before you kill the engine.

If not your new batt will die soon after if u change, ride home park bike, go for long trip and...... ur bike will not start after 1 week of vacation.

Cheers

Thanks bro for your input

and thanks for the horns :cheeky:

The most important thing to take from this accident is that we acted naturally as a team:all the bikers quickly arrived at the accident, everyone helped to make harmonia feel better, take care of his things, provide all sorts of assistance(from talking to the police, to advising on the bike towing, to giving him water). Everyone discussed the best options and we all sticked together until we all reached SG together. This was truly inspirational and heart warming, a true bikers brother/sisterhood and a true human bond between people who are literally very different from each other in all things, culture, religion, race, shape and... sizes !

So there was an unfortunate incident, but everyone reacted as one and that was for me the best part of it and I am glad I went on this trip with such an amazing group ! :thumb::thumb::cheers::thumb::thumb:

Sista,

You did a great job on Harumonia's wound.

Glad you were around with a First Aid Kit cos I believe no one knew what to do with the wound.:clapping:

i know of the gopro cam

its good quality

but the price is also very nice

actually if buy in from US go pro cams can be slightly cheaper than in sg

like the flip cams

after conversion+shipping etc still cheaper than in sg

some more with the current conversion rate more reasons to buy from the US

bro .. that battery is mine I bought at AhBoy for back up and it is a DRY BATTERY.

As mentioned before and previous I posted .... my DRY battery 4 months old bought at UM, leaked and the battery water spilled over and have my battery bracket corroded. Ah Wai at that time saw the condition of my battery and noted Chris about it. They told me it is a rare case and cannot change for a new one cos the battery is not from Bajaj original. I do feel like being cheated at that time and fight for my right since UM recomended me to change for Dry Battery from Wet battery. UM covered 10 percent only to have my dry battery changed. Dissapointed but after a while I cooled down and forget about it cos I'm Autobot gang hehehe friendly people hahahaha.

Hopefully this link will enlighten those with doubts to understand better including me lah hehehe ... http://www.absak.com/tech/gell_cell.pdf

yes i understand, because u said ur "dry battery" need to pour water and wait for the reaction seems like a "wet battery". for any dry battery, the liquid part is absorbed by the agm or gel or whatever the material. if there's a leak if however the liquid is not completely absorbed, it will ooze out together with the gel and the gel might plug the leak, making the "liquid" not so corrosive as compared to wet. also if there's a leak (for wet type), the whole container will cause major damage as the acid will destroy its surroundings, its harmful to skin too.

because i dont know the contents of the battery, and from ur description, it's hard to judge if it's truly wet or dry. i also dont know why ah boy made it this way; pouring the electrolyte ur self. the only thing i can think of is they want to preserve it for storage, however it dont make any sense. factory should already mix the electrolyte and the gel to ensure the mixture is even and factory seal it. what if the gel gets harden and doesn't absorb the liquid? or there's too much or too little electrolyte? i only know pouring of electolyte is needed in wet cell, never heard of it in dry.

i've found some info btw wet n dry. note its says wet provide higher surge current in performance section.

http://www.ehow.com/about_5510631_wet-vs-dry-cell-battery.html

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

thought of placing at that area also...

but worry that the thin metal plate might not be able to take the vibration...

cause the lights are mounted on a bracket then the bracket will be mounted to the plate...

another place to look at is on the crash bars if you have them...
