9. seems to be just the rubber cover for your +ve terminal

10 & 12. can't see properly where it leads to, but seems to lead to the bundle of wire being held by your batt strap with a fuse holder. that should be your erp wiring and the fuse for your erp unit

the rest cannot see properly

Thanks Alvin.

9. I mean the wire itself, what is it and why do we have a red wire going from the + of the battery to that item number 8 ?

10 & 12: ok I'll check if that goes to the IU good idea :)

It's great to read you're doing well :cheer: :cheer: !

Already back on the bike ? What was the damage on it ? everything fixed ? Speedo is working ? What did you folks think of the whole incident? :cheeky: ?

I think Alvin is right, no place you can check the helmet. Inspect it carefully from the inside too to see if you see any cracks or anything. Google it to see how you can evaluate it by yourself somehow. Check the strap too see if it's still well fixed and nothing was torn or anything.

Obviously you know it's not safe to ride with a helmet that took such a hit so I'm not gonna add to it - and in fact I would think your helmet will still serve you better than an open helmet so I'm inclined to think you should keep it until you can afford another full face instead of trading it for a cheaper quality open face.

They had to replace the front fairing, lights, and speedo. Cost me $500 in total. ouch.

how much you bought your current helmet?

actaully can trade in your helmet to get a HJC one for $100

light and comfy to wear

Got mine at $340. Thankfully I didn't splurge on those expensive Arais or Shoeis...

Hi, welcome to SBT !

Average mileage could be around 500km/full tank without hitting reserve. Some got a 400km some a 600km+ mileage so obviously this depends on your riding style, if you pillion someone, have boxes, the tyres, the sprockets, all that stuff.

I think it's safe so say a 65-75km/h speed will get you exceptional mileage. 80-90km/h will give you great mileage. Above that it's just very good mileage which is already so much better than ANY bike outhere. So really, I wouldn't worry about the mileage and speed. Even if you wack the hell out of it, the bike will still be very sufficient on petrol consumption.

Of course, whacking like a wannabe racer will not do good on the long term to your engine - but again, this is all about your preferences in terms of riding !

hi guys. thanks for the friendly responses!

i'm intending to get this bike for transport and i know i definitely won't be catching up with rossi on this bike. lols.

it's also really quite hard to find eh. no one seems to be selling on the forums.

so if anyone got lobangs, could you pm me? i REALLY don't wanna have to take MRT to sch. haha. it'll be a real biatch.

imho, the defensive riding course is a waste of money unless u are riding into an army camp. its essential for all bikers goin into an army camp n require a defensive riding cert. if not usuali dey wun let u in..unless e RP dun bother.

Aniwae, this course comes in 2 parts...theory n practical. e theory lesson is exactly e same as wen u take cl2a(u need to clear e theory b4 u cn go for ur tp test). the practical is quite fun la...dey will wet e floor n ask u to ride fast n jam brake damn hard to let it skid and u suppose to control e bike while skiddin. end of lesson and u get e cert

dats defensive riding course at ssdc

Hi O'Ren,

Thanks for the detailed information

Hi hari, Welcome to our thread ! :)

The budget can really vary a lot. Like alfa says some really recent P200 can start at 4k, but you can find decent 2-3 years old pulsar around your estimated budget. Less than 2k probably means the bike is older or less well maintained.

To find a P200 for sale, you can:

- Contact Universal Motors the official Bajaj retailer (http://www.umpl.com.sg) - they sometimes have 2nd hand Pulsars

- Go to other bike shops and investigate the prices and availability, leave your name and HP in case some shop has a P200 to sell soon

- Check this very forum's classified section

- Keep an eye on this thread in particular, people sometimes come and post here that they want to sell their bike (do a search - I think someone posted a few pages ago)

- Try other Singapore bike forums

- Try other type of classified pages like for example GumTree

My advices before buying the bike:

- ask all your questions here, no question is too silly !

- make sure you know what sort of quality you can expect with your budget and what things to look out for in a 2nd hand bike

- get one of us to accompany you to see the bike you want to get so we can advise you the best we can

- budget for insurance, road tax, and most importantly.. safety gear !

I have a P200 that I use for the exact same purpose you want one. It's the perfect bike for that ! You'll absolutely forget it needs petrol to function because it will take you more than a month to need to top up !

that is the SAF half day DRC which is designed for SAF

the one that the BBDC is offering is with 2 different moudules

which also include riding out on the open road

SSDC never specify what is the contents

CDC has 1/2 day or full day DRC course

the SAF one covers some parts of both moudules for BBDC

Gd morning folks. So sianz. Dis morning. Riding my comet, I stopped in between a left trailer and a right lorry at a traffic light near my workplace eventhough I felt it was too narrow. Den when the lights green, the left trailer moved off, hitting my left bag n fell off. I had to squeezed myself to my right, my handguard hit and scraped the back of the right lorry. Luckily, the back of the right lorry is made of wood. And luckily, im carrying side bags, not boxes. Picked up my left bag n continued on. I parked my bike at my wokrplace and saw my left thigh got some bruises and my left pants torn. Hehe. Everyone was looking at me wen I walked to the office. Sexy ya?

Moral of the story, be careful with ur judgment, if u think u cant squeeze, don’t squeeze, especially in between buses, lorrys and traIlors.

Got to agree with u on this...no point squeezing in between big vehicle just to save few seconds of ur time. Some riders out there look you at a cynical way when u stop behind another vehicle when they think they can squeeezee in and stop in front ..

Hey folks!

Thanks for all the concern. I am almost fully recovered and back on the bike now. :thumb:

Is there a place in Singapore where I can send my damaged helmet for inspection? I want to see how bad the damage is. Thinking of using it until I have enough to buy a replacement helmet.

If there are scratches which u can see that is pretty deep. Chances are it is structurally unsound.

Crash helmets are meant to take 1 hit only.

i tried to touch-up my Arai last time.

when try to sandpaper the scratch. End up whole patch like size of a sunny-side-up came off. TOTALLY SHOCK MAN.

Seriously.....

if this is for real....

ho seh liao

Bro, it is real.

“A new Pulsar model, the 220 DTS-i which has a constant-velocity carburetor instead of fuel injection, is the successor to the fuel injected 220 DTS-Fi.[2] DTS-Fi production and distribution was halted in 2009. “ - Which means it replaces the fuel injection to carburetor.

“The Bajaj has claimed its Pulsar 220 as the Fastest Indian. By turning back to carburetor Engine from Fuel injection, the new 220 has improved on power from 20 bhp (15 kW) to 21 bhp (16 kW). The Engine is tuned to give an improvement in the top speed, which is now 144km/h.

The new 220 DTSi is way cheaper than 220 DTS-Fi” – wiki source.

UM doesn’t bring in the 220 becos of market value in sg. Its sad. So sad. No, definitely sad. Yes, very very sad. However they do sell the twister 250 , comet 250 and ninja 250 despite the market here. So sad.

So true !.. Me when I see bikes follwing me in heavy traffic and I know I don;t want to squeeze, I just get back in a lane like a care and let them go first. Especially cup kias.

Gaban, it's a good experience it' good you didn't have rigid boxes. Hope you didn't get too injured.

It happened to me a bit differently, I was in the front, bus on my left BEHIND (I inched forward) and car on my right, BEHIND. Well, the care swereved to the left for some when taking off, and I couldn't go anywhere since there was a bus on the left. Myself and Shaow were fine but the car's front fender got stuck in the pillion's foot rest and got bent.

This thought me a good lesson:

- not to squeeze unless I have plenty of space

- not to squeeze between bus & lorry or 2 buses or bus & 4x4

- take off quickly and swiftly to avoid being "grabbed" by a car who can't go straight :slapforehead:

- not to take off if you feel the cars next to you are impatient (often cab drivers): I let them take off first, then me.

My golden rule when squeeze in between vehicle when traffic light on red :

if i'm the 1st bike b4 the stop line. will move forward abit toward the left or right side of one of the vehicle beside to block them. but Must be alert to move off 1st when green if not the car u block will horn u in no time.

met a few instances where there is enough space and i stopped in between a bus/lorry and a car

then when the light turned green both of them will speed up together and they always then to move slightly to the side they move off

had to speed up to get in front of them or stop and let both go 1st

or sure will kana their mirror
