revhappy@ the 65bucks one..

Oh Ok. But that one is only semi waterproof, its more like just a jacket to protect against cold wind. I see many JB riders using it. I am also considering it as a riding jacket, but the Knox jacket at JW store is 100$ and that is full protection so I think its better that the ARAI with only 35$ more. But Jurong west is so far off, need to find time to go there. Anybody bought that jacket? Reviews please.

Hey guys, I noticed that in the pictures of the newer pulsars, the front fork(or suspension) we can see the chrome part exposed, but mine(UG2) has the black ugly rubber covering the chrome part. Is there a difference in the forks of the 2 bikes? Or can I just remove the ugly rubber? Any drawbacks of removing them? Then probably painting the front forks black would make it look better.

Can remove.. the only drawback of that water might, MIGHT, get into the fork thru the little gaps between the fork and the rubber..

quite unlikely.. the pressure sustained from braking should cause the oil to seep out before water can even get in.

hi all,

i have a bajaj pulsar 180 ug2, purchased it recently(3 months) and met with a minor accident. after the accident left the bike and went to india for 4 weeks. came back and found a flat tyre, battery discharged and bike not in drivable condition. went ot universal and there the mechanic without even checking my bike properly adviced me to change my battery, change handle bar(because i accidently told him that i was feeling weird on the right hand side handle). anyways i got everything done came back and next day evening i went ot my bike to check it and founf the left handle balancer was lying down on the ground, also the tyre was flat again....dono if someone is messing with my bike or its poor workmanship....anyways i am not satisfied with their work, any suggestions for good bike shops in yishun?.

pls remove n give me, it look ugly on ur bike, but look nice on mine. :p

actually the rubber dont really have much use. it serve as some protection for dust n dirt to mix with the oil seaping out.

also not advisable to paint the fork, remember there's rubbing on the fork part, so if happen the paint peel off then u got problem, also the paint will make the fork tighter n might jam it.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

what did um ppl do for ur tyre? n what u mean left handle balancer on the ground? drop off?

from what u explained, sounds like somebody tampered with ur bike.

when i towed my bike there the front tyre was flat so the mechanic just inflated it and took it inside...maybe to check for punctures....i dont know...as far as the left balancer is concerned....if someone messed with it the screw keeping it in place would have come off right?? ...but thats not the case...the whole balancer along with the screw dropped( the mechanic when changing the handlebar had to use a saw to cut the left balancer due to some reason and i feel he didnt fix it properly)....and if someone was to tamper with my bike why only deflate the front tyre....he could have dont a lot more....i am too depressed....had high hopes from the bike now just feel like selling it off.

Haha.. Thanks Arthur. I actually wanted to paint the lower part of the fork not the chrome part. The lower part of my fork is silverish-white color whereas new pulsars it is black color. So if I remove the rubber and then paint the lower part black it will look identical to the new pulsars

Did you buy your bike brand new or second hand?

EDIT: I read your 1st post, you had bought it second hand and you faced issues with it in the beginning itself and then you had a minor accident and on top of that you left your bike for a month and the battery and tyres died.

I dont know what to say. Looks like your confidence and perception on the bike has shattered. Nobody can change anybody's perception. So yeah I think best thing for you would be to sell off your bike. And buy something that you are confident about.

huh saw ur handlebar? it's getting stranger by the min u explain. anyway um should give u a list of what they changed or serviced. can list them out?

the balancer still can screw in? check if the screw thread is ok, n try screw it in

it's hard to know if someone had deliberately played a prank or um did a bad job. my boss's car also had a similar case, tyre always punctured. a prankster only have time to do easily accomplished damage, they can't do much else they attract attention. anyway u should be able to push to a nearby petrol station n pump up if it's tubeless n ride to um or any workshop. all workshop can service tyre, but i'll advise to go back um n debate with them.

agreed with what arthur said...

maybe someone just playing prank on you...

for your tire the prankster can just unscrew your valve cap and use any object to press and hold onto the valve to release the air which might explain why the mechs did not change your tire as there are no puncture

for the balancer it can be removed by removing the allen key bolt holding it...

do you know which mech fixed your bike?

UM got 4 regular mechs and they are very professional about what they are doing

the 4 regular mechs are ah long, jacky,ah wai and ah teck

what is done to your bike is written in black and white on your receipt

Joe,J(can't rmb his name but also start with J) or chris will write it down in black and white with all the details

maybe you can check on your receipt see what was done...

just to make sure you went to the bajaj service centre that universal motors right?

not the other one in front which issues receipt under seng motors
