Hi all fellow riders out there,

I'm 1.6m short and was thinking of getting a Harley Vrod. Tried it but found the brakes and clutch abit too stretched out and will be quite uncomfortable if I were to change gear or brake. Any experiences to share?

Hi slowpoke,

thanks for the lead, check with Harley and they confirm they have the kit but quoted me only $300+. But improvement is only 1 inch. Any custom shop I can check out?

Posted

1 inch will make a diff when u actually sit on it.. it may not sound like much but it really helps.. try changin the seat too.. there's one which is lower n brings u closer to the frony by 1 inch... so u have 2 inch in total.. hmmmm u checked 300plus? who did u speak to?

as for custom shops, i would say the usual ones like tony, sumsoon n mr yee

Thanks slowpoke for the tips and advice. Looks like may not have the chance to try it with kit before deciding..... Hmm.... What about the custom shops you mentioned? I may want to go and talk to these ppl. Thanks in advance

i think you should go for something else.

it's not just about seat height but also posture and handlebar reach, elbow rest. no point riding something which is totally uncomfortable

yeah agreed witya...Juz saw one small built fellow riding it.. His posture is abit wierd cos he is stretching his arms and legs too much...Should be quite uncomfy for him bah...:cheeky:

you can get a Night Rod instead (it's a vrod with mid control instead of forward). Are you looking for new bike or used? You can convert Vrod forward to mid control but it will be expensive. Vrod is a very nice bike so please don't give up the thought. Anything can be modified =)

yup yup..nite rod with mid controls.... then crash bars with highway pegs.. best of both worlds hahaha...

there's a Screaming Eagle V-Rod in harley's takashimaya store...very beautiful machine...manages to look both fierce and sleek at the same time. the foot pegs are pretty far forward though, wonder how its like for shorter riders...
