it's a beauty.. i always wanted a Boldor..

some adjustments to your panniers mounting will perfect this beauty..

i should have the heat shield around somewhere if you scared your pannier will be melted by the exhaust fumes..

selling for time to admire your beauty..

i'm not really into boldor... but hey man, that seriously looks good with the panniers and all!

Thrash? Don't mind if i do.

that's very nice.. but adding 40l hepco side panniers would make the bike very wide.. hard to lane split if you need to isnt it?

hello ppl

I live in Australia, where the CB400SF is now available for the first time. The bol d'or version is not available here. ABS version is $AUD 11K otr, $1K more than non ABS version.

I picked an ABS one with the Blue/White color scheme. Has anyone in Singapore fitted the moriwaki short system to a CB400 Revo? I can get this system from Japan for a reasonable price provided it fits. This bike is new over here and there is very little information on it. The standard stainless steel system is ok, but it's too quiet for me :D so I'm looking at alternatives. thanks in advance for any feed back.

I dun the the shorty will fit the new Revo block..

the one that Mussolini posted in the Revo thread should be the one.. i think you bought the same colour as the pic..

if you are importing from Japan, just be sure it's made for Revo.. anyway, Australia does not have any legal implications against race exhausts used on a road bike right??

Posted

thanks biting_point, the moriwaki web site atm does not show the short system for Revo. Australia does have rules regarding noise pollution but they are only enforced in extreme cases, e.g. Harley riders with straight through pipes, and most of the time only enforced if someone lodges a complaint. I picked the blue/white just to be not red/white :D there are just too many red hondas.

Harley is one loud b.a.s.t.a.r.d

:sorry: :offtopic: :D

I would say most after market exhaust systems are louder than the regulatory maximum level or on the border line of that maximum. Most after market exhausts will pass the test but are louder at higher rpm compared to the standard exhaust system, so strictly, they are not "legal" at a high rpm.

I notice that a very high percentage of motorcyclists would replace the standard system with after market systems. I would say this is mainly for looks and for noise.

Overall you gain very little, as you may gain some power but surely would loose in fuel economy. You don't get something for nothing :D , regardless of what the motorcycle tuners may throw at you (e.g. Dyno charts).

In the case of the standard stainless steel exhaust on the CB400 Revo, it is very quiet, and that's where the problem lies. The rider looses the aural feed back when riding, especially when wearing a full face helmet which blocks most of the sound. So... do I spend money on a noisier exhaust or do I spend the money on a matching leather jacket... :)

some information on noise can be found here: http://www.mccofnsw.org.au/a/79.html

Agreed. looks very unique and nice with a well maintained full SS exhaust system.. the mirror like chrome effect is not easily condensed into words..

Yea. well, with "vtec" technology you can choose when you would want to feel the surge forward or when your pocket tells you otherwise at the petrol kiosk.. i've power when i want it, and good 'fuel economy' for normal day to day riding... with good 'substance' together with ur petrol, you can obtain better FC too..

So... do I spend money on a noisier exhaust or do I spend the money on a matching leather jacket... :)

haha, BOTH man.... if ur budget agrees to it of cuz..

on hind sight, i would say protective gears come first. comparing it to a noisy exhaust just doesnt seem right (to my conscience that is)..

hope you get your mori-s soon dude!

eh guys i have a worry. and its quite a setback for Moriwaki.

im using the long full system (rainbow color endcan) and i've been experiancing alot of vibrations expecially on my rightside. i thot the screw at my handlebar is lose but after tightning and even changing of heavier balancer, the vibration is still there! and it is so painful expecially when u are riding for more then 10 mins.

i went to knt to tune and service my carb and clifford told me its because of the exhaust. in the middle part of the header theres where the catalyser is and some other stuff but THAT is the cause of the vibration. there is something inside that is blocking and causing the vibration.

now i wanna know any other moriwaki users like me experiance the same thing? if not then it must be my bike lor... must troubleshoot already....

he said the shorty got no problem... hmmm

Vibration normally causes by loose parts (screw and connection of parts of exhaust) .. and if u say is ur exhaust i dun tink is the reason as mori long exhaust FS is lighter den mori shorty FS dun it doesn't make sense to me .. is better to double chk that ur FS is fixed properly like connecting of the parts of the exhaust and screw tt tighten it .. if everything is ok den my guess is that the connection between each parts of the exhaust from part A to B the size doesn;t connect tgth 100% which there is a very small gap inbetween that causes the vibration unlike shorty that doesn;t have ..

what i state is jus my IMHO but no harm to double chk it gd luck
