ah lun>>skipper's easy to maintain. juz top up 2T and pump petrol. twist aznd go..no hassle at all. as for rest, brakepad and tyres when botak, for belt/rollers.. change when their lifespan's up.

 

as for buying new bike>>

----------------------------------

-try check out the eng sound. should be smooth sounding.

 

-bike shuold be able to start easily. (if takes damn long to crank...most prob starter coil gone)

 

-if can try..see if ride's smooth. bike shouldn't be vibrating too much.

 

-try shake rear wheel to see if the mounting's good. (if wheel move with bike stationary..juz walk away) and

 

-check for abnormalities like

bike alignment

electrical components(make sure all working)

uneven wheel wearing(caused by faulty suspension)

paintwork

 

if possible...ask owner abt maintainence schedule. (at leasty u noe when to change parts)

Just got back from the shop. Mech said he'll call me at 5pm to let me know what's up. I spoke with a different mech this time round. MUCH nicer, MUCH friendlier. QUite helpful. Asked a lot of qns, all with a smile. The other mech face always black siah ... he wasn't in today. So we'll see lah.

 

I spoke with some friends and they recommended I sell my bike soon because the COE expires in Aug 2008. If I wait for a year, the bike will depreciate sharply. I might as well put an advertisement up now...it'll take a while to sell it anyway. Am a bit reluctant, but what to do ......

well...its hard to let go ain't it?? esp. all the mods u've done to the bike. anyway..it's gd to put ur bike up on sales. (kinda to test market) if a gd offer comes by..y not rite?? :smile:

yah also gonna put hardcopies of the advertisement up. At Cold Storage, Carrefour...maybe some rich angmoh will buy it hahah.

 

Anyway I gotta re-spray it and get my t-bar done first. Then clean and de-rust the major parts. It's all about presentation - if it looks good, people will pay more :)

yah i think i'm gonna do that. i figure unless i put in a lot of effort, i will never be able to get a spray can job to look like a job done by a shop. So i might as well camouflage the imperfections with camouflage hahaha.

 

It'll look unique anyway...solid colours are boring, and flames are over-done :)

 

Oryx --> Project C...haha must overhaul everything siah....I may switch to an RXK. My firend may give me his haha.

well if that's the case you guys might as well dismantle it and see if you can put it goether again. like teach yourself how to overhaul a skipper hahaha....we've got the manual right.

hi guys, received my skipper back from my mechanic liao.. :cheer: Change of the fly wheel n the starter motor which apparently was the problem. was glad tat the problem was solved n thanks for the replies tat were rendered.. Thanks
