Welcome to this section of SBF, Plainmilk

We are just commuters who sometimes like to mess around with our Skippers :cheeky:

We will be meeting this Sunday. So if you're available...maybe you want to drop by to join us? same goes for all the new faces in Skippernet :thumb:

Phatish, if you free to drop by...maybe we take a look for you? Our Rae is quite good with wiring :bouncefire:

I'm on with anything for Sunday afternoon. So I'll drop by again tomorrow to check post :bounce:

i think my Rectifier spoil or somthing....any idea how much it cost? when i ram my bike...batt will hit up to 18V. damn high..haha. and gets super hot after a ride.now my batt can't crank up the bike again...just change like 2 weeks ago...

voltage regulator: governs the amount of current coming from the alternator and limits it to about 14-15 volt. This is usually combined with the rectifier to make one piece of hardware. If too much current is generated, the regulator sends it to the ground or frame.

sounds like a proble of mine....how? is it Ex?

Sorry guyz, due to the rainy weather, the outing/DIY session was cancelled. There might be one this coming sunday. Do log in often for the updates

phatish>> A new set of rectifier would cost more than $30. I got a recondition one from botak at around $20 last time when mine died. Hehe. Just for your info. :cheeky:

The bike needs repainting. heard u guys know how to do it.

For the fairings, do you just paint or do you actually use laquer too? im planning to change the main body to pearl white and the plsticky parts/foot platform to black.

Also, i saw some skipper with this carpetting thing cover the foot rest area. any ideas how to do it exactly?

damn it... dunno wat happened...

figured may be the autochoke got problems....

anyone can knows how to verify wats the problem??

and if it is really the autochoke... how much does it cost???

mitosis... yes... we all spray our own bike... erm... not those very nice finish though~~ hhahaha... yes... we use lacquer... also... we ry our best to sand down and put putty if can... hahahaha... but still quite far off the standar~~ :p

Ahhan... maybe because these few days very cold... then quite hard to start... mi here also... so might not be the auto choke fault... hee... tats all i can give u~~ :p

Hey Mark! Thanks for the birthday wishes :cheeky:

Hi fellow skipperers, we will be meeting this coming Sunday 15 Jan for the scooter gathering. I propose we meet up in the afternoon at 2pm for a short DIY session and to get to know many of the new members here first before going as Skipper group (if they are still there)

About that starting problem Phatish...you did check your batt water right? Cos I had starting prob recently but now working fine after I discovered batt water below "lower mark" and topped up.

Really happy to see more Skipper riders coming together :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Yo Bro, its ahhan lah that got a starting problem and not phatish :D In any case, hope this weekend the DIY will be as planned. Hopefully wont rain again

Phatish>> Bro, if botak don't have a spare rectifier, you may consider going to other bike shops. Maybe go to Sunrise or Taihin in Kallang Ave. That tiome when my rectifier burned the 2nd time, i went to change at Taihin at below $50 (with labour). Its a reconditioned one ahz. But if you wanna get it cheaper, may consider going to scrapyard to get it. Installation is very simple also. Just plug and play

mitosis>> You wanna paint you bike pearl white and black also ahz?? Wah like that ahhan bike got clone liao. Luckily mine is yellowish white :cheeky: In any case, whether to laquer or not is up to you. It depends on what type of finish you want on your bike. For me, if its white, i'll prefer glossy finish. If its black, matte would be the best.

Ahhan>> Like what Alvin says, nowadays, weather very cooling, bike engine confirm will take a long time to heat up. Maybe like what SK I says, you can do a check at ur batt water. Else, may wanna do a check at ur spark plug also. maybe its dirty liao or something else. Auto chock rarely gives problems by the way
