The fuel indicator came on at 1/4 mark after travelling for 98km. The previous top up was 3.5L when fuel indicator turns on.

So fuel consumption is 98/3.5 = 28km/L

Cool..

*Sigh* still can't decide to buy skipper or runner. I prefer seat level are equal. x8/x9 'pillion's seats was higher than rider's seat which was uncomfortable for me (person with long hands, long legs, LOL).

Went teck thye today, the mech told me typhoon fork cannot be service but to replace the whole fork assembly. He told me italian design the fork very funny, no oil inside just damper only and its the same for gilera runner as well.

From haynes manual and the parts manual from Automachinary it never indicate any damper for the earlier model but there is oil seal in both fork. I am curious if there is no oil inside how come got oil leak out when I pump the fork.

Prior to that I visit a few other shop all tell me the fork cannot service.

I need to email piaggio italy to find out more.

Other option is to replace with later model fork assembly from ebay.

fork seal savers?

only damper in fork? tt's pretty odd. in tt case, to rebuild, juz change the dampers and fork seal?

Fork seal saver? Its the black color piece (with reflector) of shield to protect the fork slider (chrome part) from flying stone or other debris from the road to prevent damage or pitting. If the fork slider is protected from all these elements, its life will be extended and the chance of fork oil seal damage and eventually fork oil leaking is reduce. The earlier model of typhoon, pre 2000 like mine, doesn;t come with this shields hence its prone to fork oil leaking.

The newer model fork, as seen in the pic, has a screw knob on top the left hand side of the fork, for holding up the damper. The earlier model tyhoon dont have these and I have verify it myself. The damper, I think is not rebuildable, unless there are spares available. The Gilera runner fork I believe have these damper as well.

Hence when shop told me my typhoon fork is with damper, they could be wrong because only yr 2000 onwards typhoon fork has damper incorporated. Also from the parts manual I never saw the damper in the earlier model.

Supposedly yes, but because spare is not available locally, hence no shops willing to open up and see whats inside.

I already make a complaint to Piaggio Italy to express my unhappiness with the local piaggio support group. Hopefully Piaggio Italy will do something abt it.

Yea I did the fork protector for my bandit, probably will do the same for my typhoon if I manage to get the spare parts for the fork first.
