my budget's as low as possible(300-400??)...best to have coe covered cos now coe prices never gonna drop. this bike will be left for modding(gonna do it slow cos of tight budget)

tt FB vespa i saw b4 getting my skipper. was quoted differently tt time... anyway...shan't say too much..

was actually in search of a vespa then, could have dealed an AV plate (1979) vespa for 1K. but the seller's funny..claim tt he was going abroad and wanna deal fast. and die die wanted deposit of 500 when i get log card to do insurance (it was 1K cash payment before this) and another 500 after transfer. (wun even wanna take 200/300 instead)

anyway..i can't confirm..but think it's the same the seller's sellnig AV vespa in garage sale for 1.7K.(and he's still in SG) to those interested juz be careful.

got the skipper manual...very interesting. but pic can't see tt clearly. oh well..can't ask for much. thx ultimax!

Paiseh man...I tried my best...even chose the newest copy machine in the copy room.

have fun with the manual. Sit down and think through the instructions, preferably in front of your bike. The pictures aren't that helpful in my opinion, but most of the instructions will make sense when you have a look at the skipper itself (use common sense haha)

ultimax, I lent you my Vespa manual, you lent me your Skipper manual, how?

SKI, thanks for the offer but it's OK. I'm not interested in Vespa scooters. If you want, you can buy a copy of the Skipper manual from me :) Paiseh man, must be fair to the rest who have already paid.

Hi people

I want to know how many of you Skipper riders ever got piston jam while riding

Will you totally lose control? what happens when it jams suddenly and how to react?

How fast (and for how long) you go before it jams

:cheeky:

I never go more than 80 for the past 5 days....kia si...:faint:

Happened to me once.

Nothing much happened. The bike just died and I cruised to a halt. Thank god I was on a minor road so I could steer to the left. Had I been on the expressway things would have definitely been more exciting, and scarier haha.

After the engine died I couldn't start it again. It would crank, but wouldn't ignite. It eventually stopped cranking altogether. I originally thought the battery died, but the motortiam told me the piston had jammed.

Damage: $190 for new block, piston and labour at Lee Huat.

Cause: Rubber belt on the 2T pump had broken due to old age, rendering the pump useless. JAGA THIS SMALL PIECE OF RUBBER. Or, premix your bike :)

Posted

Thanks a lot :thumb:

That means your piston jam due to 2T cannot mix with petrol...then overheat the piston and piston jam...and you were travelling at what speed?

That means auto scoot when piston jam wouldn't lock back wheel like what happened to me on my Vespa

Or just Skippers only

oh yeah..tt piece of rubber's very important. to those who haf not changed it pls get it changed. was chatting with one of my friend and it happened to his friend. end up the same as what ultimax experienced. (botak said muz change for every 70K)

anyway...any of you guys tried premixing? how much % to one tank??

Posted

Never Tried premixing, And so far piston also never jam! I really took care of my darling one :cheeky:

Btw, now my bike sound like normal liao! Went to Taihin to cover back the hole at my exhaust. So now ok liao! No more helicopter on the road!
