ook... i intend to go by bike. if go other depots den i jus go by the transport provided. or the temp train/bus pass that they will provide. go early cn avoid erp. but anyway up to u. tml i will wear black pants n long sleeve shirt. abit formal.. but they will giv uniform n all.

haha... first day training. maybe ferst few mths. den shld be attachment to stations. wen circle lin open den be a full fledge stn manager. they sure teach hw to react. see ar i tink they may teach us unarmed combat or wat... but sure report to police ar.

went for ferst day. was good. made a few frens jus nw. haachi is frenly too. i qte like the atmosphere of this class. all are matured n some more exp than others. many times better than my ferst day of NS. i hope to hold this post for another 30 plus years till i retire.

transitlink n smrt not same company leh..... neway hope grx get the job in rolling stock dept. i see the RS engrs work like qte hard leh. they must know the train inside out like the back of their hands. honestly a small motorcycle oso i dunno how to repair. n thats just part of the job. read the job scope oso like qte diff aredi

I worked with SBS workshops for 2 years, got to know people from SMRT and received similar feedbacks from SBS staffs. Political, full of red tapes, low paying, ungratifying if you meet ungrateful customers who think their $1 bus/train fare entitles them to make you their slave. Basically how you expect SAF to work, these companies will work in similar fashions.

But just work it out in the company. It provides the best training ground to newbies. Everyone goes through tough lives before upgrading. But of course people who are capable enough will move on. Many currently reasonably successful people in the engineering sector I know came from these 2 companies.

thanks for your input bro... my interview is next monday at bishan depot... so was hoping to get some insights of the company and re-align my expectations... sounds tough but challenging... anyone knows whats the starting pay for fresh grad RS engr? thanks...

thanks bro for your inputs... I have actually been working in the semicon industry for abt 4 yrs... and seriously thinking of switching out of the semicon and manufacturing industry for a change... my interview is on next monday, will see how it goes.... thanks alot!
