Hehe... no la i tender already so no more stupid games, i managed to finish my 2A lessons already, but i couldn't book a TP in time as i will be going to NZ for 6 months, so i guess 2A will be Next year?!?! omg, wat a screw up haha, but even if i have 2a now i can wait till class 2 , maybe get a stx? see how la, and now that seems like a long time to go, class 2 in 2010 maybe?

 

Anway, the aquila ? that one also korean bike if i'm not wrong, you might have problems getting parts there i not too sure, but at least take that into consideration, cause i'm sure honda parts will be easier to get. happy hunting!

 

You can speak to the Chief Tester of your Driving Centre, show that you'll be flying soon and you need the TP date before that, or you'll need to wait 6 months later, need to probably renew driving centre membership, need to re-learn, its stupid. So bring your flying ticket, bring your company letter to show you'll be leaving for 6 months. This way, you'll get an early TP date just before you fly. Of course, this date is a all or nothing style. You fail, and that's it.

I guess your selection of bike model should zero down with the following requirements:

 

- Parts and accessories availability including their average price tag

- Reliable mechanics who knows the bike model you intended to purchase inside out

- Condition of the bike exterior and if possible engine condition too

- Low mileage could spell good bargain

- Maintenance frequency

 

In my opinion, just got for the Honda Shadow 750 if possible which would save you countless dilemmas in future. Since you are looking into getting a cruiser, the learning curve for the 750 in getting used to the riding style, handling and customize to power output would be a breeze.

Well, i am riding a daystar 125 and if you get a 125, well i think you'd have problems going up hill, let alone a mountain. Although it is a nice bike with great fuel economy, i think a shadow will be a better decision, you won't feel the need to upgrade. As for daystar after a while you might feel it lacks power. especially with a pillion.

 

The daelim agent i go to told me they stopped production of 125 daystars a few years ago, so you might probably get a 150. and the reason you might not find a 150 in red/white any more is that now the newer versions are daystar 150 classic, which doesn't come in red/white colourway, there's black/grey and orange/cream from what i have seen. I've tried a 150, and although you can feel the difference, it is not much.

I am thinking of buying my first big bike - i live in Cyprus in Europe.

 

I was thinking buying a used Shadow bike, however now that i saw the Daystar, i am thinking about buying Daelim. The power is a bit lower than what i wanted - just wanted a 250cc, as i think the 125 cc is a bit low, so i want to ask the owners somethings before i buy.

 

In the town definitely i will not go above 80km/h thus it will be ok it power. But what about highways, and with another person on the bike?

If let's say gets 100-110 km/h with another person at the back, for how long can it be driven at such a pace? Will there be a problem to ride the bike for 1-2 hours continuously?

 

Also the other thing, is that will the bike be ok to go up in the mountains with another person at the back? The top speed is about 50-60 KM/h in such roads, however i dont want it to go only 20-30 km/h in upwards sloping roads. Has anyone tried to go up in the mountains?

 

Unfortunately i cannot find any Daelim users that sell their bike, thus i would have to buy a new one.

 

The other thing, is that in the official site, i saw one red/white colour, but in the brochure they dont have such a colour. Do you know why?

 

I would so much appreciate any help , as in my country i will be only the 2nd owner of Daystar i think !!!

I think maybe money is the concern. Since he's comparing a 1st hand Daystar to a 2nd hand Shadow, which could mean Daystar could be cheaper as compared to Shadow there.

 

So his other concern would probably be, paying roughly the same price for new parts, never everything, compared to 2nd hand which might have problems.

better go for harley but remerber insurance cost you thousand plus the bigger cc the bike is the more expensive the insurance is, and that you need to pay every year
