that is for my case.. for yours not too sure but did u tried click refresh a few times n does it work ?

cos my issue here seem weird n my laptop with the same problem..

example, when i on ie/ff , home page error, so i refresh and homepage loaded n internet surfing as per normal..

but if i close this page and reopen a new page of ie/ff i will have to redo the above step..

seems for yours u only said u have internet and when u on ie/ff it show error, but u didnt say did u try the ie/ff got internet access or not..

Bro y2k, could be that your modem is taking some time to connect to the net? Mine takes about a few minutes to connect upon startup so I'll just wait for a moment until it connects. Sometimes if I wait too long, I'll just restart the com and it'll be all right.

I didn't have this problem until I actually installed the latest networking driver from the manufacturer. :rolleyes:

Current Rides:

FEB 07 -> NOV 08 [CBR 150]

AUG 08 -> AUG 12 [XJR400]

AUG 12 -> ??? [DUCATI MONSTER 696]

Bro, you are using Starhub mobile broadband or home MaxOnline?

The network icon that you say is indicating connecting, can you double-click it and click on the Support tab?

What is the Address Type and IP address?

Dude your computer might be connected to the router(max connectivity etc) but internet flow is not through yet. Refer(or just reset) to your router set up and all the IP add stuff. Using starhub here, encountered a few times when I changed a few configs here and there with my linksys.

Bro Yus, borrow your thread. I am also having a similar problem. When I switch on my PC + modem, all the lights light up but I am unable to connect to the net. For MSN its intermittent. For IE and FF its always cannot. For the past two days. Should I be worried?

are you connecting via LAN(direct ethernet connection) or via Wi-Fi(router) ?

could you have spywares or something? heard that some stuffs could discon you on and off :cheeky: wouldn't harm running some scans and all ;) if all else fails to find you a solution, likely to be modem problem like what Ranzl has mentioned.

try this,

www.superantispyware.com

www.avast.com

they're FOC.

go cmd n ipconfig /all check if there is any ip address, if no ip address is asign to u, try gif urself a static ip address. if u noe how to set den u go cmd n ipconfig /all again n see how .. if u are using cable try to unplug all cables n plug back n restart ur router .. normally tis kind of issue is router problem

P.S.: Not too sure what RedGixxer688's internet provider is, but if it's ADSL (Singnet), it takes 10 minutes for a home ADSL modem to "register and establish" itself to his/her internet company on the other end... before he/she can begin surfing the net. This happens during first time setup, or when one just plugs out or switches off the modem improperly.

This is why I usually get in the habit of clicking "Disconnect" on the router's setup configuration settings, before I unplug or switch it off.

This is analogous to a logoff.
