Hi all, thank you for your honest feedback via the feedback forms, in this thread and to Endless via pm. The session this sat is primarily to train intructors to lead convoys for future HOV sessions, because as you can see, we are short handed on manpower. Endless, some members from motov and myself will also be discussing your feedback and how we can improve conducting such courses for participants in future. As you know, we are volunteers who are figuring our way around trying to spread the safety message and a safe method of riding to fellow riders. If you would like to assist us on an impromtu basis for future sessions or to help in anyway, please pm me to inform me of your interest. I'll keep you in the loop. Cheers.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

opps...

tio spotted liao...

haha...

cos had soccer game after that ma..

so later to bring so much stuffs along...

wahahaha...

plus when ur on a scooter, u tend to get a bit lazy... in e attire...

i learnt it from yogi...

he wore slippers n shorts when he rode his previous bike...

haha...

hmmm reminded me of my biker fren...

he rode Blackbird last time... all the way standard attire... slippers, shorts and singlet. The time he wear gears... he buang..

change to silverwing.... he was wearing same thing. .He buanged i went visit him .... see all the abrasion.... wonder what is his standard attire now...

Bottom line is ... our flesh vs the HOT TARMAC .... who wins?

Silverwing has 55 litre under the seat... (if have top box another 48L)?

If single riding... cant be not enough space for additional clothin and shoes ya....

Having ridden Silverwing b4 i know the enjoyment of wearing minimum when going marketing....

convenient and cooling.. Then again... after my own encounter with the HOT cruel tarmac in Msia.. Its is the moment u pull urself together that you really thank God you were in one piece ( those there were injuries).

All the gears were really put into good use and believe me. I wished I had more protection rather than Roller blading knee guards ( not enough cash for riding pants then)......

My gf though did a superwoman. She was totally intact admist the shock also thanks to the gears. Not 1 bit scratched.

Anyway not lecturing jus sharing my thoughts.

Leh Cheh for the moment or scarred for life.

Enough of my losoh storey.

I still have my old Arai helmet for education purposes. Maybe I'll pass to Pplater for coming HOVs and safety talks...

Not promoting any brand of helmet but jus wish to reiterate that a decent helmet can really save lives.

Ano, i would suggest that Action is faster than Words,

since that Arai helmet is yours, you should be present this Sat, so that people won't think that this is a make up story.

Be present on that day okok, you have our MORAL SPIRIT supporting you

Er... yup, I wear like that all the time. And bro, it's not as hot as you think lah... My jacket is mesh one so it's actually quite cooling on the expressways lah... So no need to tahan one... all i can say is that it takes getting used to...

And yes... like what Anodise57 said, wearing rain gear is the siong one... not wearing riding jacket and knee guards!

As for touring overseas, I'll be in my ultimate full gears... armoured mesh jacket and touring pants, leather gloves and of course, FF helmet! Actually, you can see what I wore on my blog about the Cameron trip on s4dreamer.blogspot.com!

The amount of protection worn is entirely up to the individual. In the ideal case, I would love to don my full leathers, boots and armoured gloves everywhere I go, but it is just not practical.

I must admit as the years pass, I get more and more complacent on riding gear, now i'm even *gasp* using open face helmet on my daily commute! :giddy:

But once upon a time I did wear riding jacket everywhere I went. Its really not that unbearable even in the worst of afternoon heat, unless you're stuck in a traffic jam with your bike blowing hot air at your legs full blast....

Currently only the open face protective helmets are mandatorily. The rest of the protective gears are still up to individual. I’ve seen more and more riders putting on more protective gears. I believe these riders are more aware of the protection needed when riding a bike.

If you are only wearing an open face protective helmets just because it is mandatorily, I hope at least your pocket is protected.

And this is a NO, NO, in any riding!

Thanks for endlessloop, pplater, and the rest who organised the 8th Nov HOV. For the time and effort put in.

It's been a wk or so now and i've found that after going through all that was presented and illustrated, riding has become more relaxing and less taxing. At the same time, it has become much easier to spot potential hazards from further. My understanding and learning is far from complete and the MindMap which endless prepared is helping surely. practice abit a day.

The practical riding portion was eye-opening and definitely manages to highlight the different situations that we encounter on a daily basis and how better to read/predict them.

As a fresh p-plater with very little experience, i found the session immensely helpful as it aids in filling in the gaps between emerging fresh from the riding school and road experience. Better that we get to learn from other ppl's experiences than through trial and error in this high-stakes environment.

Would definitely urge any other green p-platers to attend the session. the benefits are tremendous, considering the fact that sch is totally diff from real road conditions.

Once again, thanks to all who made it possible who were involved in the session!

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

Really interested in this. When is the next session?

The past few sessions have been conducted 6-8months apart. Generally when there is enough demand, say 6 pax, we will organize the next one.

Interested riders can pm me their contact number and I will inform all riders when the next session is organized.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.
