You can buy a bike without a license.

You just cannot ride it. You will need to have a truck deliver it to your parking lot for you.

You can ask them to not do the insurance for your bike. Both can be easily done online by yourself anyway.

Road tax no need license, but should just be done first so there is a record of it on the gov systems.

Insurance requires a license, but you can just do it yourself by visiting the website, I use NTUC, which is easy, when ready with your license, you buy online with them and submit all your documents.

Just rmb you can buy first, but without valid insurance and road tax, it is an offence for it to be ridden on public roads.

But strongly do not recommend that you buy before you pass because i've seen cases whereby they order bike already then *touchwood* fail their tp, so their bike got left there got 2 months, or they try to sell it away. Best if you pass TP then make any purchase of bike

Aiyah! Tell him can la! You tell him, deposit only valid till the day of his TP. If he fail TP, deposit makan.

Even better, don't call it a deposit. Put it down as an "Option" fee. Which is valid till the day of his TP. After that, if he does not act on his option to purchase, then bye bye option fee.:shades:

Since he so confident.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

They did. My dad bought my first bike for me like 3 weeks before I pass my TP. Since he had license, he bought the bike under my name, but the insurance with his name. So i'm the owner, but only he can ride that time.

Actually you can still sell him. The bike will be laid up. So he pay u for ur bike, pay for $11 transfer fee and i think $5 lay up fee. No need insurance. So once transfer is done, he is e official owner but he is not allowed to ride it. Only can park at his carpark. After he pass, he gotta buy insurance, tow to inspection centre to inspect then unlay-up the bike. Then he can ride liao.
