as above, i went 107kph on old airport road near ubi, limit 50kph.

just replaced my suspension, sprocket, chain n valve, so had to test it out n it seems like my hand got abit itchy since i was on the right lane with no cars in sight :cheeky:

stopped at t junction and got a shock when i looked back.:giddy:

TP was behind me.

was pulled to the side and was summoned for speeding.

so anyone with experience can help me out? what happens when i recieve the letter in 3 weeks time? our big brother TP kept telling me that im only allowed to have 12 demerit points and the offence i just made, IS 12 demerit points.

been riding for a month n a 1/2 now. first time seeing our hantu on 2 wheels in action, unfortunately its due to me

if you happen to be riding a KR, SP, RXZ, 125Z or any of those bikes with notoriously inaccurate speedometers, i would guess that you werent even going over 100kph actual speed.

you were probably going 40-50kph over the speed limit, which is a 12 point offense + compounded fine if i am not mistaken.

if you really were travelling at 107kph, that you put you in the class >50kph, which is a court case offense. in that case, you can kiss you license goodbye.

not a very smart lemmon, are you?

either case, hope for the best. and dont do anything so foolish anymore, ok?

If 107km/h is stated on the notice of offence, then that is the speed clocked by tp. Anyways, TS didnt check his speedo as said, being a 2B bike, he was prolly going around 120km/h on his RS125? On a two-lane rd no less.

Goodluck to TS, it's good you are stopped, else, who knows wat might happen?

That TP stop might have just saved your life as you continued at that speed at that unsafe road.

My opinion is, high chances the MP may not help you.

1) You just got your licence, so the licence is not your rice bowl.

2) You are young and reckless (though you realised your mistake, I doubt you will realise it if you are not stopped by TP).

3) On what grounds are you going to ask the MP to appeal for you on? Rice bowl is out... and that is the best reason to appeal on.

You might get a lecture from the MP even.

Your best chance is actually for that officer who caught you to give you a chance. If he didn't think you deserve it, than it's too bad.

I have been clocked by TP at speed of 120 before on the expressway, but was let go and just given verbal warning. Reason was I told him i was merely following the vehicle travelling speed as the cars are moving at that speed or faster... The car infront of me was travelling even faster I told him, but I didn't follow his speed.

He then let me go and sped up to nap the driver. Thank goodness.

Sometimes we do speed up as the general speed is fast, and that includes exceeding the speed limit.

It's best to follow the general speed of the vehicles, or switch to the left or slower lane if you dun wish to.

you are supposed to display your road tax prominantly on your bike. supposed to.

in so far i have yet to encounter any cases of anyone getting into trouble for not installing a road tax disc on their bikes.

Displaying your road tax prominantly, and keeping your insurance papers (photocopy or otherwise) on you does fascilitate your moving through road blocks. again, i notice that never before have anyone took a second glance at my road tax.

hi, sorry for being inactive for so long, busy with work and stuff.

fyi, the bike is indirectly my ricebowl. i work odd hours for MOE and am based at changi coast road. i live west area.

old airport road a 2 lane road?

i remember it being 3, unless im mistaken.

i was pulled over just opposite CDC.

letter has came in, it seems i have to report in court on 20aug.

on the issue of the speedometer thing, the TP showed me his dashboard and a device stated 107, i suppose its my speed?

i wasnt taking note of my speed anyway, though i knew i was travelling abit faster then normal. there were no cars around so i cant really gauge how much faster then normal.

whateva the outcome is, i'm sure its justified and i'll get whats coming for me.

someone mentioned i'm riding rs125, how did you know?!

Bro...

All the best to you...

I'm sure you've learnt your lesson...

Just a click on your profile will know you've stated there as RS125...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

If the TP's dashboard or whatever it is called clocked you at 107km/h ... that's your true speed at the time of offence. Just do your best to protect yourself although there isn't much hope ... I wish you all the best and hope you have learnt your lesson. Remember, riding safely isn't always about riding slowly, but riding with full knowledge of your surroundings ....

If i not mistaken.... ur speedo reading is definitly more than 107. 107 is TP reading.. anyway.... here some advise.

1) See MPs. their letter of appeal do have some weight in court.

2) Ur speedo is faulty.

3) Have a mech or workshop to confirm that ur speedo is faulty.

good luck in ur court case.

107km/h is TP clock you or you see your meter ?

Its not really possible for 2B bike to hit that speed and stop at the junction in that short stretch of road.

Bro, its possible... whats ur bike during yr 2B class ? It is a sports config bike or road bike? Its possible bro..and if u think our speedometer are fraud... big bike are not exact too..

appeal to MP doesn't mean they will really help u waive or reduce fine.. i once appealled a $100 summon, and it became $200..

what advise you need? :? :?

107 km/h clock on your meter or TP?

anything more then 40 km/h above the road limit are going to be court case.

just get ready to return your driving license and a sum of money to paid the fine. :nono:

law are law, it not rubbish or whatever. he can consider lucky enough to be caught by TP and license still can be re-take if revoke and not .....

either you follow its to be free from worry to get fine or break its to have a moment of thrill and faced the extra thrilling cost.

many times i happen to ride beside a TP at expressway, i not bother by them as i follow the speed limit. its good to have TP on the road, can see how discipline the motorist are especially the heavy vech driver.
