yeash!!! im a fazerian aredi.... got my "display set" fz150i. condition is veri new onli got watermarks (dried raindrops maybe) on pipe fairing n tank... mileage was 177km.. top speed i went jus nw was between 80-90 kph. its qte high, almost like a scram n the handlebar was qte low, look like x1r. im used to riding a bike which has head fairing, n it blocks some of the wind wen riding. dis is a totally naked bike, so i have to get use to the posture n riding. i like the engine sound, n the outlook. fuel consumption i have seen better, but dis is good enuf. i rate dis bike is overall 4.5 star. n for 4.8k all in + 2nd party, i tink its a steal. furthermore i push dis bike out wif 1/2 tank. upzzz for fz 150!!

 

Congrats, that's a good price.

nope, both dont have. Fuel injection no choke....

 

btw, great bargain on the bike...envy you bro, i think you got the cheapest bike among us..

cos its a "display set" used for yamaha agent hong leong to test ride mah. i bought mileage aredi 177km. fbd2+++ plate swee num. bike registered last mth. neway i tink its jus lucky dat i found it by chance. i oso dunno got 2nd hand so i nvr ask. the salesman offer it to me onli den i got to noe. i bought at i motoring bt merah (the showroom) under speedway...

i did some read up. got 2 types of fz150i. 1 is the msia made n the other is the indon made aka yamaha vixion. if i read correctly the vixion uses rebored sparkz 135 engine. the msia 1 shld be the same as ther is no performance difference. qte dissapointed bike not dat powerful. uses rebored 135cc but power like 125 onli.

the_scientist85: Bro, correcting becos ur wrong... the bike has EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) and not Carburetor. Should have checked the specs first..thats y the pick is good and the Fuel Effciency is good as well..

hmmmm..... ya im wrong. i didnt noe dis bike no carb cos all along i tot all motor vehicle have a carb as a basic engine. neway wat engine mods can i do for the xtra power n speed? i noe 1 method is going jogging evryday n lose some weight. wat other methods bside weight loss?

 

for looks mod, i wan to buy a head fairing n belly pan so it looks like a fz6s. how much n wher got sell, if hav? if jb hav i tink i wan to buy ther, n fix it at any bike shop here. u tink good idea?

Then I guess you get urself a wrong bike...This bike is not about speed and power.......

Wanna some more power change bike....In CL 2b....Krr and Sp are your best bet....Stock around 33bhp and is easy to break the 40bhp barrier....Top speed not uncommon to reach 180km/h....

Got budget then get a aprila...With full alu swing arm and radial brake....Fully adjustable sus.....

 

Or get cl 2 goto the world of unlimited....where your right hand is the only limitation.....

Hello guys if don mind putting in your 2 cents worth. Would be considering changing to either of these 2 bikes once P plate clears. From what i understand so far:

 

    Both bikes are EFI
    Both bikes have godly FC
    Both bikes can be modified appearance wise to look fierce
    Both bikes are relatively mantainence free/friendly
    Both bikes perform well in Communting functions

 

Doubts:


    PULSAR is oil cooled. Is FZ150i Air cooled? Which is better?
    Which has greater BHP, im guessing PULSAR since it comes with 180 & 200cc versions
    Which is more "nippy" in traffics Does PULSAR weigh more then the FZi?
    PULSAR has electronic dash (inaccurate reading, battery die = mileage die together), FZ is fully analog? Which do u prefer? (Analog for me.)
    Aesthetics wise, FZi has my vote for great looks.
    FZ is a relatively new bike, OTR value is much higher then PULSAR, small (almost non-existant) second hand market for FZi also.

You got to ask yourself what u want first? And your budget??

This 2 bikes sip fuel....If aesthetics wise look better to you then get it...

 

But if you thinking of upgarding then I would suggest dont even bother to get any bike above....Most new 2b bike lost more than half of their value after 2-3 years....

 

Not hard to find less than 3 years old bike less than 2k but when buying new...5-6k...sad but true...

 

Unless u dont go for higher class then this bike should suit u....

 

But before u made any statement go and try to take 2A if the power drug doesnt intoxicate you then go for it......

fz150i is EFI, pulsar is carb

pulsar is oil cooled, fz is water cooled

pulsar definitely weigh more.

fz has better acceleration and top speed.

pulsar cheaper and fuel consumption is better.

no fear. no surprise. no hesitation. no doubt.

Regarding carb vs EFI, it was mentioned in this thread that carb is trickier to tune as compared to EFI, does this affect FC substantially?

 

Next question, if the FZ runs faster at 150cc, i guess the weight really affects PULSAR cos even 180 & 200cc cannot make it?

 

If i do take 2A i will STILL end up with a commuter style bike, think CBX 250 Twister by Honda, saw it on the roads a couple of times, uncles and even a lady ride it with the pet dog on the fuel tank!

 

So as for functionality i go for COMMUTING (naked) BIKE.

Budget wise: 2nd hand price. Can't be bothered to run in.

 

P.S. i think pulsar's headlamp fairing is silly... look like a bloody evil eye poking out.

guys i have tested my top speed with box behind after my 1st service. it can only go 130km/hr throttle max. wonder is it the box that cause the drag
