used to ride a FI type blackbird for 3 yrs, good or otherwise I`m not sure, as usual

they are pros n cons to everything....they say the carb fed engine is more powerful than an FI...who cares man the Bird is already powerful...how much POWER do we want...forget the Technicalities just RIDE....Blackbird is an awesome bike to ride,, I missed that kind of ride..(get emotional already)..

Not from my experience, but from what I've read on one overseas forum.

Pro of EFI - more smooth power. Carburetor version has a power drop somewhere in the middle RPM

Con of EFI - much more susceptible to the petrol quality. So, if you intend to tour really far away in the countries where you are not sure you get good petrol, you should take carburetor

haha... me too... missed it too... the blackbird's really awesome... i almost bought another blackbird after selling mine for only 2 mths plus... but then happened to find me an x11... so dun it miss as much...

i also had an FI model... didn't give me any problems for 3 yrs... but of cos carb got no expensive complicated electronics.. so unless you're going touring to places with no decent workshops... you might want the carb model to play it safe as any workshop sure can fix... otherwise FI is the way to go...

Up-ping this thread ..

just wondering is it worth paying 19.5k inclusive of COI interests and insurance for a 7 mths old stock blackbird ??

I know a brand new BB costs 20k but excluding interests (which maybe costs additional 2-3k) and insurance ...
