Dear scoot bikers,

I was wondering if the Yamaha Maxam 250 was available in Singapore.

This scooter is absolutely fantastic and would be great to ride in Singapore.

See the galery and search Yamaha Maxam in YouTube!

http://www.yamaha-motor.jp/mc/lineup/scooter/maxam/gallery/index.html

It is available in Japan for 661,500 JPY (8,500 SGD) and in HK for 50,000 HKD (8,750 SGD)

Let me know if you know someone who has it in Singapore or if you know a company who can import it.

Do you think that I could import it and register it myself?

Thanks,

Alex

Thanks guys,

I will visit Mah motors... Is it the official Yamaha dealer store in Singapore?

Is there any other Yamaha distributor...

Yeah parking may not be as easy as a cub, but definitely easier than many other big bikes...

I am impatient to know if having this bike is possible. I will keep u posted.

Cheers,

Alex

Mah is deals with Yamahas or rather in my opinion, Mah is exciting enough to deal with rare bikes and scooters the main importers are afraid to bring in.

For Maxam, i believe the idea of not bringing this model in is due to the pricings. I guess the cost margin is too high to be considered a logical reason in buisness sense.

In another word, it might be expensive....

Passion is illogical! I used to drive a T-Max and a Majesty 400...

Now my dream is Maxam! I know it would be rather expensive, but before I take a decision I just need to figure out "how much exactly"... my budget is equivalent to T-Max... If I can't get the Maxam I would probably go for Tmax or the new Majesty 250 or maybe the GP800... will see when I talk to those chaps.

Cheers,

Alex

Hi, I've contacted HLCorp, they say they never had a Maxam in display and it's not imported in Singapore... :-(

Thank you for your interest of Yamaha Scooter.

We are sorry to inform you that Maxam 250 is not available.

How about the Majesty 250 sport?

You may view in our website : http://www.yamaha-motor.sg

There was no Maxam been imported nor display in our showroom before. I guess was the Majesty 250 sport.

mayb u shld ask abt 'Morphous' i/o Maxam...

saw 1 of this: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelhome/479/0/home.aspx in red mths back :sian:

OK. So the name in the US is Morphous. Interesting I would have thought they imported directly from Japan, maybe they imported the US version for english language (make sense).

Yogi do u remember at which store you saw it?

Hope I can get one at reasonable price...

Cheers,

Alex

Guys,

Went to Looi's and saw the new Honda DN-01 it's a monster. Looks more like a bike rather than a scooter. Color was nice metallic purple.

Went also at Mah's and saw the DN-01 in White color in display! Price is 21,000$! Arggggghhh

Hi guys,

Went to HLCorp this morning and saw the red Majesty 250 Sport in display (not a Maxam)...

I asked about Maxam and got a very disappointing explanation: Maxam is not imported in Europe and Singapore because of more stringent pollution regulations. That's why you ca find it in USA, Japan, HK, Korea because they are less stringent... My dream has vanished.

Well I have to reckon that the Majesty 250 Sport is awesome with contactless key, ignition button and electric buttons to open lockers!

But for an additional 1450$ you can get the T-Max! For me it's a no brainer!

T-Max 08 is 15,700$ including COE, while Majesty 250 is 14,250$ including COE.

Cheers guys, let me know if you hear about a T-Max for sale (with FI).

actually the maxam is not so expensive. Its available in HK. But its only 250cc so i dont know if the power is enough...a new one is about 10k SGD in HK. Its 55,800HKD to be exact. Check out ibike.com.hk to quench your desire.

Hi Gerald, yes I already checked iBike in HK but problem is how can I import and register in Singapore.

If anybody knows a trick and is willing to help me to make some $$$ let me know! ;-)
