hi guys.. i was thinking about buying s4 but dunno wan to buy Ver R or Spec 1.. the different price between this two is huge.. got one shop uncle sell Ver R FN plate for 2.5k.. is it worth? i have seen the bike was in very horrible shape but the uncle promise to re-paint it for free to make it look new.. the Ver R and the rest of the s4 engine sound is the same smooth de right? and the Ver R pickup can make it mahz? i like good pickup de but i dont like to speed.. the most i will go is 120.. will the bike become shakey at 120?

 hi, welcome to the CB400 forum... virgin post ah...:D :D

Well...

Version R is a >10yrs model and Spec 1 is

Main difference i guess is the new technology of Vtec which i presume you know what issit all about.

Regards to the performance of the bike, 120 is speeding leh...

But, if the condition of the bike is good(CB400), 120km/hr is a piece of cake...

lots of things to take note of when buying a S4, regardless of versions...

E.G.

---- Steering cone

---- Wheel bearing

---- Tyres

---- Charging coil

---- Clutch Plate

---- Vtec Respone (Vtec models only)

---- Engine Sound, any unusual knocking or leaking.

.

.

.

.

these are the few i can think of currently.

i believe there are better-information threads out there where you can refer to when buying a Used bike..

All the best in your selection..

thanks for the info.. and ya.. first time posting here.. hahaz.. oh and what about the pickup? do ver R pick up good? about the price of 2.5k.. is it reasonable for ver r?

Posted

frankly speaking, i have never tried a Version R myself.

I am currently riding a Spec 1... pick up = :thumb: for me...

Remember.. "It's not how fast you can go from 0km/hr-100km/hr, It's how fast you can come down from 100km/hr -0km/hr"

And 2.5k is a very hard to say figure.. If the Bike is in a tip-top condition, every wear and torn parts changed.. its worth it if you are just looking for a cheap transport...

try looking for Bike sales under the garage section, there are plenty of good deals waiting to be grabbed from there.....
