Decided to start a new thread to share picture and trip detail of my trip recently.

I might not be riding a phantom anymore, but my heart are always remains with the phantom groups. Thus, I decided to post within PK premises ..

It has been a long while since I have done such a long trip..

 

This Trip was a rather fruitful one, experienced different culture and lifestyle at different province of thailand.

 

I believe It's my final long trip for the next few years at least , I will like to dedicate this thread to fellow PK and also a fellow biker whom has fallen the same day we on our way up.

He might not be part of PK, but he is an experienced rider whom I always respected.

My heart really sank badly when I heard about the news.

TRIP SUMMARY

 

Day 1 ( 11th May 2006)

 

Meet 11:00PM @ GP Esso

11:40PM Move Off

 

Fuel Stop

SGP - GP ESSO - 18KM

Ayer Keroh RSA 205KM

Rawang RSA 170KM

SG. Perak RSA 190KM

Final Topup at Bukit Kayu Hitam Before Entering Sadao Border. 245KM

Reach Thai Immigrant at 8:50 AM SGT

 

Sadao Border to Hatyai Town - 60KM

 

Average Travelling Speed is 100 - 120KM/H

 

Total Distance Travelled : 888km

 

Day 2:

 

Free and Easy at Hatyai Town.

Basicly is Food, Massage and Nightsout with the Super4 Groups to Paragon.

 

Day 3:

 

Shopping at Hatyai.

Rode Solo to recce around Songkhla District.

 

 

Total Distance Travelled : 90KM

 

Day 4:

 

Check out Hotel and Leave Hatyai at about 12:30pm SGT

Headed Northbound by highway and Passed by Town

PHATTHALUNG

SURAT THANI

Made a Detour Near Chumphon back to SURAT THANI Towards DON SAK

Reach Don Sak at about 6PM SGT.

Paid 185Baht ($7.70) Ferry Ticket for both Bike and Rider to Ko Samui.

Ferry Ride was about 1.5 Hours. Sunset was scenic.

Reach Ko Samui at about 8+PM SGT.

Navigate Through the uneven roads to NATHON and stayed there for a night.

Cheap Hotel with Basic Facilities, Can find most local Thai Food at Nathon.

 

Total Distance Travelled ~500KM

 

Day 5:

 

Left Nathon Early in the morning for the Famous Chaweng Beach. Pretty warm day, when we reach Chaweng

I Threw my own ride aside, Rented a cub for whole day. Cost 150BAHT (~$6).

Road condition was pretty bad at Ko Samui, Uneven,muddy,sandy roads, But its definetly fun to go around with a cub or scrambler!

So I went to trail and reccee every single route I can found in samui, Up and down the mountains and leave a trail where theres no path!

But very sorry, I hardly find any local thai food in Chaweng. Most of the eatery here are infested by Mac,Fastfood,Fanciful Italian Restaurant blabblab

 

Total Distance Travelled on Honda Wave : 203KM

 

Day 6:

 

Checked Out Hotel Early in Morning and rush to Jetty to catch the Ferry back to Don Sak

Sadly we missed the ferry by 5 min, so have to wait till 1PM for the next ferry.

Reach Don Sak at about 2:30PM

 

Rode south Bound coastal Road towards Songkhla. Scenery was much more nicer than highway, However road/traffic condition was quite bad.

Distance is also shorter compare than Taking the highway..

Passed by Town

 

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT

Hua Sai

 

Then we headed in Hatyai Town. Reach hatyai at about 6PM, I decided to ride solo up to the eastern side , Krabi.

Taking the highway, Traffic condition was better than expected at that hour.

Ride was pretty smooth

Taking Route 4 VIA PHATTALUNG, TRANG then to Krabi.

Night riding is not very advisable over there, condition cant be as comfortable as riding on the NSH.

Reached Krabi at about 9+PM.

 

Total Distance Travelled: 650KM

 

Day 7:

 

The toughest Day for me.

Checked out Hotel and Left Krabi at about 10AM

Headed to Sadao Border and Reach about 1+PM

Cleared The immigrant Clearance and quickly move into malaysia for Fuel Refill.

 

FUel Stop:

 

Semmengul RSA

Ulu Bernam RSA

Seremban RSA

Pagoh RSA

 

Reach GP ESSO at about 10PM, Refill and headed back to SGP.

 

 

Total Distance Travelled: 1198KM

 

 

 

 

 

 

ROUND TRIP COVERAGE

 

3326KM on my own ride

203km on wave !

 

Average Speed: 100 - 120KM.

 

Lodging Expenses: 4700 BAHT ($200 SGD) 6 Night

Petrol: ~$270 SGD

Food: 5000 BAHT ($210 SGD)

Beer & Liquor: 2100 BAHT ( $90 SGD)

Shopping: 3600 BAHT ( $150 SGD)

Misc: 1000 BAHT ( $41 SGD)

 

Total Expenses: $961 for whole trip

My Ride over at Ko Samui. Definetly a fun bike to go around muds,sand,bumpy uneven roads! Best all rounder bike

880km nia. Took me 12 to 14hours on my 176cc scooter - scarabeo. Sure enjoy...
