ninja, i went to your blog - the bike is chio! catalogue does no justice to it.

i always thought i'd start with a cheap NSR, and then chg immediately upon getting cl2 .. but this bike is so tempting .. and because its price is smack between "affordable-luxury" and "just-a-dream", it's not something that one can just brush off like that YZF-R125, RS125 or Mito. such a pity no 2nd hand models in the market yet.

Yeah... I wouldn't spend something too high price for a 2B... so aprilia or yzf is out, no doubt they r so called branded...

and Hey... rwr also not bad wat... look chio... affordable, and also can go touring... rwr can go anywhere one... unlike other expensive 2B bike... cos too ex lah people keep it in SG... cos go abroad abit too dangerous for them...

Hi Ninja,

I was recommended to this forum by Ronnie. He said I should be able to get some good tips from here.. :-)

My rwr is white in colour and I got it from Kaki Bukit. Went and tested it over 2-3 days before I finally bought it a couple of weeks ago.. :p Already had my first servicing done and changed my tires to Bridgestone ones.. Also accidentally scratched it at the side when I first hooked my airbag jacket's deployment attachment.. Now also looking for some nice sticker to cover up the scratch... :p

One of the reasons I got this bike was because of the size, I'm big size so I look very weird on smaller bikes.. :p As I'm a new rider, I'm still learning to control the bike slowly.. But so far I'm getting more and more comfortable with it and learning to control the bike better..

Thanks for your recommendations and guide on the rev, I'll give it a try tomorrow, so far only rev till 6-7000 rpm.. :p As for the horn think I'll get the stebel, thinking of upgrading as it seems like quite a number of vehicles on the road don't seem hear the stock horn..

Regarding the lubing of the chain, do you have any recommendations for chain lube?

So far I managed to squeeze the following on my bike..

Underseat:

Cleaning cloth, helmet bag (cloth), parking coupons, a pack of wet towels.

Storage space:

Rain pants, liner for jacket, a digital tire pressure guage cum torchlight.

It'll be good if i can manage to squeeze in a bike cover somewhere then I won't have to carry a bag... Hahaha!!!

Hi ian, welcome to our rwr club, btw wat is ur rwr color, and u got from where?

some of the ans to ur Qs...

1. U can install the electric horn such as stebel magnum or hella, they r legal. So far it doesnt affect my battery, cos its not that u will keep pressing it for long. But if u install the air horn (illegal), then u may need to ask them to put in the relay for u.

2. HID is no no. And in my opinion it is not necessary on our rwr or if u just travel in SG. Only those people go for long distance touring will install HID or fog lamp. If u wan white light, can buy the bulb from CKA, just plug in only and cheap.

3. RwR is DOHC, meant its power only come in during high reving. If u wan power, then rev it hard... the method is for each gear shift, rev to almost near to red line then change gear. U can do it after running in your bike. Sure power.

4. Under seat no space... after u put ur spy alarm etc very small space. Anything just put in ur backpack lor. U can put any small barang under the seat if got space...

5. Everyday if u free, before or after ride just go around ur bike to check. Anything loose, or leak. Also check the brake fluid level etc. U shld also lube the chain as much as u can. Wait u more pro liao then slowly u can disassemble ur bike n DIY some stuff...

Hi Ian & Aekel... so u both will go to BBQ on sat night? I will be there with my bike from 7pm onwards... so hope to see u all there...

Ian... if u notice, due to DOHC the power of rwr only kick in after 7rpm or higher. In gear one, from 1-7 rpm quite sluggish n the needle move up slowly... once it reach 7rpm it will suddenly chiong all the way up...

wah u got airbag ah... damn ex lei... u using it in SG? I tempted to buy at bike fair... but no money...

for chain lube i am using bel ray... so far so good... or u can try maxima... but if u start using either one of these then u have to start lube urself... cos motorshop they use oil.. and chain lube (wax) dun mix with oil...

wah y u need soo many things under ur seat? I only put parking coupon nia...

cloth or towel --> no need la.. any dirty go home n wipe... rain coat --> no need too, if go out time rain then put on... if go home time rain then no rain coat nvm cos going home anyway...

actualy try not to put too much things under ur seat, cos it will obstruct ur air intake (there is an intake n filter there) and may affect ur performance...

air intake is very important to engine, I rem that time I went thailand mountain, due to lack in oxygen my rwr top speed dropped from 130 to 100 or lower...

Hi,

sorry but I have to miss teh BBQ this round. Next round. :-)

Tried out the rev... Very different, like what you said, it kicks in real good after 7k... And it seems to be smoother and faster...

Yar... Using the airbag... Got it at a bike / car show last year even before I got my 2B license 'cos it was going at a good discount.. It's quite heavy to carry around though... :p My friends who are ex-riders (wives dun allow them to ride anymore) keep psycho me to get the airbag for safety reasons.. Hehe..

Thanks for the heads up on the air intake, did not realise that.. :p

Will try to do some chain lubing myself, guess it's good to take care of some stuff ourselves than to depend on the servicing all the time.. One of the joys of owning a bike eh? :-)

I came across this forum by accident when i was searching for a new

bike on the net. All the pple here are very friendly and somehow their

honest opinions help me made my decisions on sticking to getting

a rwr. Mine is also white in colour and will be taking it on the 25th.

Got mine for 8.3 otr.

Anyway, itz water cooled rite? something like a car radiator is it?

I didnt get a chance to ask ronnie.. so can anyone here explained

to me abt the cooling system, cuz i havent come across a bike

with water cooling system. And as for the filters.. air filter, oil filter?

Wah lau wei.. Guess i was too mesmerized with the bike when i was

there that i forgot all these questions i wanted to ask.
