network problem with my lappy

i got problem with my new dell laptop. while i was in starbucks few days ago, i connect to wireless@sg. i m able to connect to the network but i am not able to surf the internet. why is this so? thnks in advance

make internet v slow? mayb firewall block? u try at home surf, if alright means should b okie ba.

you must set ur IE to auto detect proxy address.

because u dun nt hav a wireless@sg a/c (eg. singtel, singnet.Qmax and so on) after u hv the a/c, u on ur IE den u need to log on before u can start surfing the net..

i thought its just connect and use? whats wat i did at macdonlds.

u can connect to SGwrieless doesn't mean u can surf the net.

u need to log-in to surf.

so go create an acc 1st, adviseable to create all. eg: qmax, singnet, icell.

mac wireless is not wireless@sg if i rmb correctly .. n some mac needs u to go to their website to enter ur email b4 u can use .. but some they provide their own wireless like our home.

dude try the advise below, else try connecting to a home connection and compare.
