Hi to all bros. I was looking around for a FJR or GS, but somehow ended up with a Fazer FZ1 instead. June '06 bike, red. Knows nothing about this bike. Any kind bros here can give a short intro to this bike and key problems I need to look out for.... will be very much appreciated.

I was too slow till the enforcement officer know my speed...for that I'm given 4, 4,6,8 points respectively...

Doing my research on FZ1.... just realized i got myself one of the fastest bike on the road?! Very much liked the color scheme and the feel of the tank ... but not aware is *this* fast!

fastest? hmm.. not 1 of the fastest in the 1000cc class compared to the sportsbikes.. of cos it depends on the rider as well..

it all depends on the riders preference n skills. same like rossi. i thought that when he joined ducati, i would have thought he will be champion again but now see where is he now in the standings. for us, as long as its a 1000cc, it may be the fastest or not, but in singapore, how fast can u go? singapore road = too fast or too slow also wrong. touring wise, different rider different points of view

agree wif dragonforce & maruzounaki.. it's only the rider who can bring his ride to the speed he able to.. one of the fazer in this group ever hit 299km/hr.. also have some others never go above 150km/hr, on a same bike model..

key problem if u insert the wrong key.

 

Ure asking about bike problems, if u always take care of the bike, change engine oil on time all that, ur bike wont give u problem. unless u urself create problem then ull have problems with the bike. Same like u never pump petrol, of course the bike won start.

heh, you guys funny.... I mean i used to have an italian bike... gave me a lot of problems... one day starter issue, anr day wiring loose, yet anr day battery flat etc.... But i think yamaha shd be v. reliable.

 

Frankly, hardly seen FZ1 on the road.. mostly FZ6. But I was smitten by the color scheme. So going to just ride it for fun Getting my bike next week. Was just a bit surprised is a 140+hp bike.. tht's wht i meant. 299km/h is just too ridiculous on a public road. Just for the fun of discussion, hv some doubt abt achieving that kind of speed without modification. Was it clocked by a GPS?

Idono, i think u might got urself a lemon perhaps? cus i dun think all or even most italian bikes do give problems unless it's a manufacture fault.. hence, same goes for fazer, if there's such problems u mentioned, it gonna be labelled as lemon already..

yes.. 299km/hr gps speed on public road.. with modifications of cus.. but of cus not in SG roads.. can do it one.. i personally tried 261km/hr on stock, still cam push for more throttle one but my balls smaller, so dun dare go le..

temasek poly bridge..TP hotspot cause of ciobus walkin around there. kill 2 birds with 1 stone. when i was a student, always saw them setting up their "cam"..

depends on ur accessories. market price for 2nd hand usually ard $18-19k as if im not wrong, 1st hands now cost at least $21k.

S is sport version, comes with the head fairing and pillion grab handle at the tail section while the N is the naked version, more of a streetfighter look. Otherwise it is all the same!

FZ1S is with fairing.

FZ1N is the naked version.

FZ1N no mainstand.

 

Other than that and few other cosmetic things it's the same bike.

 

If you want streetfighter look, go for N, if you wanna go touring go for S.

Riding my FZ1 this around and found some queries..hopefully some helpful bro here can reply

1. The temperature on the gauge measures what? Mine is showing ~100deg... normal?

2. Any recommendations for red handle grips? where to buy?

3. Found it a bit hot under the thigh part of legs. This is gonna sound silly but usually when i go for sports, i'll wear shorts... think going to be really hot... any suggestions if can modify the airflow a bit to avoid hitting underpart of the thighs?
