I'd like to get a bike and ride at PG sometimes. I'm wondering what safety measures are in place in PG and if the fatal accident last year has caused the PG track to improve safety requirements, perhaps say banning stoppies or other flat out stunts on the track? Thanks.

I've seen a notice at the pits put up to convey the dos & donts. e.g. no stunts and stopping on the track itself or you will be banned, etc.

Have not noticed any goons trying stunts on the track personally. One must be extremely foolish to try any stunts and incur the wrath of other riders on the track after the last unfortunate but needless incident.

In the light of the fatal accident, the track management at PG has drafted and placed into effect several "rules and regulations that everyone must adhere to.

It's rule-adherance still not as regimental as what you will see in other countries, or shall I say, in christened "International GP Circuits". However when you do visit PG one day and take a glance at it face-value, it still covers the simple to-do's, what-not-to-do's, and the not-allowed's, especially with the effort done in putting these rules onto signboards at the pits and in the booking office.

And yes, they do cover blacklisting methods put upon track hirers who do stunts on the track.

IMO, from a track-junkie's perspective like me, I believe most of us track hirers from Singapore, Malaysia, and possibly expats from both countries, knew what happened last year and treat these kinds of ethics as taboo.

Excluding the naturally harsh environment on the track with people competing against each other (i mean, it's a racetrack right?), my visits to the track has seen quite good "gentlemanly" behaviour around the pits.

Cheers.

P.S.: IMO, they should educate and make known the use of coloured flags to track hirers as well...

They have no interest for your safety. You really attend PG at your own risk.

Even though they may have put up notices to bar dangerous stunts, they still do not have an effective instrument both to police and punish dangerous track behaviour. And I've seen no improvement in their medical coverage.

I should've resent what I've said when I saw the replies

Well, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. Constructive negative connotation there for ya...
