anyone got good deals for LCD HDTV or upscale HD players or PS3 there?

+ SCV premier league

+ DivX & RMVB videos playing from PC

+ DVD movies (action-pack types )... don't have blue-ray players at the moment

+ link to PC as monitor... for gaming, Internet n office work

+ normal TV

decided... got a good bargain for the Samsung LA32A550P

 

was hesitant about choosing between this and the Panasonic 32LX800 which comes with 100Hz... in the end chose the full HD resolution over 100Hz

checked out PS3 ... selling at same price as outside.

prices of LCD HDTVs only got some smallish discounts, difference lies in the freebies... but not really attractive for those who don't want the freebies

 

but alas, needed some stuffs... so bought them since prices are reasonable

I will always give the Comex a miss. Its way too damn crowded already, some more for LCD or Plasma TVs, you can get them at much cheaper prices if you were to scout around Electronic shops around central estates area such as AMK or Toa Payoh. Not going to Marina area within the Comex period.

yeah... tried that, plus i use prices at comex to bargain with shops

but in the end of 2 days of hunting/bargaining (its crazy but i approached shops ranging from clementi, bt merah, toa payoh, bedok, katong), none could match the "special" from comex... $1,349 nett using visa; comes with free 5.1 h/theater, wall mount, $200 shopping voucher, free delivery and additional 2 yrs warranty (cheaper if standard 3 yrs warranty) and shops wanted to charge additional 3% if use visa to pay

 

but the most sellable is panasonic LX8... on $899 with $300 ntuc voucher! effectively $599 for an 32" LCD HDTV is darn cheap ok

 

we all know prices will drop like durian over time... but i guess this is it, at least for now lor

Philips Carnival sale just ended recently

This should do fine, with Vga input and able to cater to HD inputs My current 32" requires a HDMI splitter too many inputs -PS3,SCV,HT & DVDR.

I working in Panasonic. My manager told me that she saw our 42" Plasma TV retailing at $1499 at a neighbourhood store in Marsiling. Approx $1000 cheaper than our recommended retail price. Wonder how the shop owner can sell at this price.
