Hi all, yest i juz install a LED signal light for my s4... I realize that the blinking time is faster than my ex one....the speedometer there showing the signal light blinking time oso sound very fast tic tac tic tac...?

Is this normal or anyone face the same problem as me before??? Btw, I cant light on both signal light tgt with the headlight like normal s4 have.... the bikeshop mechanic told me if light on both signal, when i wanted to turn on right or left signal... it will not enough power to blink?? I feel doubt abt it lor, coz i understand that, the LED light power consume is less than our normal signal light bulb, am i right? I feel they not so willing to check or do for me attitude, so would like all bro/sis here to give me ur experience and advice. Thks.

U mean only the front pole lights or both the front and the back tgt? s4 shld have the 2 front pole light by default.. If u wan the back one to light up as well, need to do some wiring.. My mechanic oso advise me not to do that cos he say more lights = battery life shorten..

According to my fren hu study electronic, the blinking time of the signal light depends on the load that is inbuilt in the signal light.. Some signal light has lesser load so it blink faster.. LED has lower resistance, hence blinking shld be faster den normal signal light.. If u wan it to blink slower, tink has to install some resistors inside urself..

Juz my 2 cents of knowledge..

install a resistor.....can be brought from any bike shop.

get another relay if u wan it to slow down..led consumes lesser electricity..therefore it'll blink faster..as for the front pole light, go to another bike shop & ask if u find tat the shop u went to is not willing to do so

Many thks for all bro advice, i forgot to tell urs is LED front signal light i have changed. If there is normal then i will feel more comfortable.

Btw, i want to light on the front pole light tgt with the headlight as normal s4 we origin had (by default), but the mechanic told me cannot, coz not enough power to blink when i turn on left or right signal.. is this true or rubbish? I wonder LED consume less power but he told me not enough power???? Coz i feel the LED is nice, if can light on both front pole light, if not feel wasted mah...so anyone s4 rider who used LED can able to light on the front pole light n oso can blink when turn on signal light? Thks

Will drop by to other bikeshop to check the light on problem for my front pole light.

yup... u r right, my LED is only 2 wires... so mean that, due to 2 wires not 3 wires, then my s4 front signal cant light on the pole light?? only for signal light function? If lidat, I wonder why the bikeshop ppl din tell me is due to this reason??

Anyone can cfm with the 2 wires signal light, there is not possible to light on the front pole light?

our original signal lights has three wires as the bulb is double filament. u can actually diy ur signal light ur self, with pilot light too. jus my 2cents

yes u can..i did mine last time..both front & rear signal light up..both bcome pole light..when i signal left, left will b blinking while right pole still lit up..

but i forgotten how to do it liao..must go figure out someday..haha

bro, u din it b4 with 2 wires one? btw, u means LED also can light on pole right? Ur is LED or normal bulb? normal bulb i believe it can be done lah, but wonder LED can anot since there is no double filament? Imaging the LED light is so nice n bright, if cant light on as pole light, only for signal, then feel wasted leh... :p

Probably will drop by bikeshop n check it out the outcome. Anyone can share?

i did it before same as Sh|nHwA. the led light should have two wire colour. mine is yellow and black. original s4 got three wire, one for current, one for pole light and the other for turn signal. wat i did is the black one is plug to the current and yellow wire is joined with the pole and turn wires.

den how about the signal wires?

Hmmm... must wire the fronts up like what u mentioned. Hopefully i can do it next tuesday.

How time flies...

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.

Anyone try this method ored? I got ask my mechanic to help do this way... but cant leh....

I feel to turn on the pole light leh... with LED signal pole light... it shld be very nice.... coz dun waste the nice lightning mah....

If yours is not Spec3, i think cannot. Same as me. My mech says there is another device that Spec3 has that the other 2 specs dont have, tats y cannot connect. :sian:

Use 2 resistors, one with much higher value than the other. e.g. 1k Ohm and 10 Ohm

From the +12v wire of the led signal, connect to a constant 12v line via the 1k Ohm resistor (find a source that has +12v only when ignition is turn to 'ON').

From the same +12v wire of the led signal, connect to the usual signal light +12v wire via the 10 Ohm resistor.

You might need to adjust the resistor values to adjust the brightness of the signals. But this method should work for the usual 2 wire led signal light.

Huh? :dozed: only spec3 can ah.... :sian: i was tinking change the spec3 original signal light... colour like transparent one tat type.... but i hear one cost $70 buck... :giddy: :giddy:

With a resistor to a constant +12v, your led light will be always on just like the pole light.

With another resistor that has lower resistance connected to the signal wire, when you switch on the signal, your led signal will become brighter. And because of the blinker, your led signal will appear to be flashing.

Its just basic electrical theory.
