I posted this in the Ducati thread, but thought it might help other bikers here too. Pouch, battery holder and switches are readily available, entire mod costs no more than 30 minutes and $10.

Batteries are connected in series. 8 X 1.5volts = 12volts. An AA battery should have roughly 50% more juice than AAA batteries. Rechargable batteries might work, but at 1.2volts each, voltage might be alittle too low.

The battery packs are stacked back to back, and fits into where the plastic cover used to be. Cover can be removed by pushing the two metal pins out. I installed a switch to turn it off after use so the battery does not drain.

Hey MC28 > Yes I do actually! I have 5 pairs left, and I'm not going to use them anymore because my right ear seems deformed, and only foam earplus will seal properly.

Nice..How muchy for all 5 pairs?? PM send

The length of the cable matters. I was once there for replacing my IU. Noticed this P Plate rider in front. The moment they see halfway through the cable its tampered (Black tape) immediately the bugger say void. The sad fella gotta buy another freaking piece of *)%^&@)(#*@& ugly grey box for $150

coz i juz replaced my faulty IU a few months ago..

my old IU has a chip on the corner

and the useless lousy in hands on fillipino technician in Yishun vicom whom scractched my fairing and spent 45 over mins juz to replace my IU..

he said by right my IU cannot be replaced as it has a CHIP..

and the chip in the corner is only about 3-4mm long and bout 1-1.3 mm wide..

with a little hole bout 0.4 mm in the middle..

furthermore i have an IU cover over my old IU..

no idea where i got the chip..

so it seems tat strict leh .. lil chip also warranty void ..

tampered cable also void..

and i even had tots of shortening the length of the cable

HOW AH .. I M TEMPTED TO DO THE MOD.. ARGH..
