Thanks for your reply. What if one cannot make at the counter to change it, is it possible to call in and cancel?

Thanks again

Call and Cancel, I'm 85% sure you can't do that, you need to go down to write a statement and sign against it.

Any of you feel that CDC is like the worst place ever to learn riding?

My friend tells me she's stuck at lesson 1 because she has trouble stopping smoothly, but everytime she goes for lesson 1, the instructors bring EVERYONE, newbies and re-takers through the same process over and over again, end up she only gets to practice the stop/start part 3 times in the whole lesson!

Not once, not twice, but three times already. When I took my lessons at SSDC, instructors would take the Lesson1 group and split them up, newbies got to 'bang tyre wall', re-takers got to practice what they're weak at.

How can you expect someone who's new to riding to learn the difficult skill of slow speed control when all they do is go round and round the entire driving centre? I was quite surprised when I heard this. BBDC and SSDC's lesson plan will not allow newbies out of the minicircuit till they get the slow speed clutch/brake/throttle controls right.

I had taken my 2b, 2a and 2 @ CDC, and so far so good. they might be stricter compared to other learning center( from wat i heard )but don't you think that it's much more safer for your own? Imagine, if you are not stable enough and they pass u with 1 eye close, when u got ur license, i believed you wont be able to control ur ride well and chances of involving accident will be high. :)

As for the repeating the whole process, i reckon the instructor know what she's weak at? i suggest that your friend should highlight to the instructor on that day to let him know that she's weak at which part. I believe the instructor will help her. :)

I never thought about what you brought out before, but after bringing up this point. I think it does make sense, and it never crossed my mind.

I wouldn't say I'm very good, like finish all lessons at 1 attempt. I'm just average, taking 2 to 3 attempts per lesson. But if you look at those taking 5 to 10 attempts per lesson, it does make sense that SSDC and BBDC have better systems with 1.01, 1.02 lessons so on so forth. Although its not good for those very very very good, because its wasting their time, but it is targeted towards weaker learners.

I'd actually have to agree with Neo on this area, its hard to improve if you keep repeating the start. So if there's a 1.02 and 1.03... etc. It actually helps move you forward.

Btw, I did my 2B, 2A, 2 & 3 at CDC. But I still think Neo raised a good & valid point. :thumb:

Dream 2B bike that motivates you. Haven't heard of anyone with a dream bike of SP. Its like saying, "In my this lifetime, I wish I can ride my Dream bike, a Honda SP, nevermind a CBR1000 or a Hayabusa or a HD... I only want my SP..." :cheeky: :faint:

Completed my Prac I at CDC last night, 2 attempts.. my lower legs are full of bruises (blue black) coz whenever I tried to move the bike off the main stand, the side of the stand hit my my legs (either left or right) when it sprang up. After the bike is off the stand I clumsily hold onto it to prevent it from falling away from me. I guess becoz I am rather short (height, 158m / weight, 48kg) and with the weight of the bike, I cannot handle it very well.. :(

Friends advised to pull the bike towards me, and let it lean against me. I tried, I can't do it coz of my height.

Any ladies encounter this before and overcome it? Any method to share?

Everything's relative mah. If take 2B, aim 2B bike first. One year later take 2A, then aim 2A bike

Congrats on getting over your prac 1. 7 more to go. Try standing in front of the main stand and look ahead when you push it forward. The last time since I had a main stand was during 2B lessons lol but it worked for me. If you got friends whose bikes have a main stand, you can try it on their bikes and practice a proper technique.

firstly,

:thumb:

good that u can do it within 2 attempts..

years ago when i took my 2b...

my prac1.. i take 4 times ok...

my hgt at that time was only 1.55m .. now i 2 cm taller.. (off topic sia.. )hehe

my weight that time.. 38 kilos.. now 40+ .. :giddy:

i still remember..

i drop the bike more than 20 times..

push from main stand.. drop..

put main stand also drop...

hit tyre also drop...

what i learnt..

hold on to the brake..

do not let go..

and dont lean too much on the bike.. allow some allowance between u and the bike especially when pushing the bike..

IF NOT u will DEFINATELY feel the weight of the bike.. (tis was what instructor told me)

i was very demoralized.. with my size and weight..

i dont think i could make it..

but in the end i did...

and now i am proud of myself that i have accomplished everything and need not return to the centre every again(i hope).. :cheeky:
