relax bro, i passed my pract 8 on the 5th time..

out of the 4 failures, 3 times i passed on points, but got immediate failures..

take it as more practice for your TP, just like the instructors say,"practical many times, TP ONE TIME!" :)

Haha, yea.. thats a good quote to go by. Going at it for my fifth time tml morn. Hope no more immediate failures.

if it's not too much trouble, could those that have been there and done that compile a list of actions that result in immediate failures?

learning to ride at cdc has been a real pain. but i'm sure it's the case with the other driving centres. u only get 100mins per practical, and more often than not, there's an extended hiatus between each, so what's being taught is hard to pick up, and easy to forget .. and this is a real problem because the instructors are so quick to shout "what are you doing?" whenever there's a delay in performing the necessary flow of actions. i wish there was some way i could practice, but none of my friends ride, so even if i wanted to, i couldn't illegally gain experience for want of access to a bike .. as tempted as i am to "lay up" a bike, the very thought of doing so throws me off (have always been on the right side of the law).

getting real disheartening .. especially since learning to drive was a breeze; driving came almost intuitively to me. admittedly, as far as riding goes, i'm a slow learner, but it's not as if there's a lack of enthusiasm/drive on my part .. guess i just have to accept that sometimes there's nothing one can do but follow the course of the road, however bumpy that ride will be. wonder if i should just drop riding altogether .. received my enlistment notice today .. doubt i can finish the next 4 pracs in 7 weeks .. probably have to take my TP whilst in BMT.. if it's hard to learn now, it'll probably be harder with my coming constraints.

Gd luck bro ! anyway 1 piece of advice, treat the pract 5 just like revision..

it'll take the pressure off, and i'm sure u'll do well :)

Let's just say that they don't really check for license in a number of places in Indonesia....

Of course, it'd probably be well more expensive than just taking lessons @ CDC :p

The learner training record book would have the TP checklist for you to refer to, All the Circles are immediate failures. Of course, the simplest for me to get an immediate failure has always been "Improper action causing accident/ near accident" =\

But yea, today I'm on my way to Prac 6 (finally) =D. That license seem ever nearer.

hmm taken from the checklist..

run off course/ take the wrong route

strike kerb/ right foot touches ground/ fall off motorcycle

strike/ skip pylons

for s, crank, slalom courses, taking more than required timing by 2 seconds (13s, 8s, 8s respectively)

plank course, taking 3s or falling off

rolling backward on the slope >0.5m

failing to stop before red line/ skidding at e-brake

changing lane w/o due care

failing to give way to pedestrians at pedestrian crossing/ vehicles with right of way

failing to form up correctly

remaining in junction causing obstruction

proceeding on red light/ failing to stop at stop line

failing to obey mandatory/ prohibitory signs

causing an accident/ near-accident (turning out at the same time as another motorcycle is also considered causing near-accident)

misc

scraping the crashbars while cornering (unconfirmed)

dropping/ losing control of the bike

proceed on courses before appropriate signal

i'm also a slow learner..but practice makes perfect!

if u find ur weaker in one area maybe can try to get permission to practice on that more..

good luck..don't give up!! most of all..relax and enjoy urself~:cheeky:

i just feel so cheated and robbed of getting my license... :( siannn nx test 19may, wait till lao sai! haha told my dealer give me newer shipment rather then it being in the showroom and i can't ride it.. heart pain

I realised that the waiting time for CDC's TP tests are horribly long. I finished my practicals in a few days and waited more than two mths for TP recently. Thankfully it's over and done with.

Hmm, alright. Instructors seem relatively strict anyways.

Going for RVC on Sat morn. Hopefully nothing screws up on Sun. Haha.

Better to screw up in the circuit than to screw up on the roads with potentially ugly consequences.

a very big thanks. your good advice stuck, and because it did, i passed my prac ytd. having recognised myself as being a slow learner, and with no real chance of attaining my licence before ns, i started ytd's prac with a slightly defeatist attitude. i didn't want/hope to pass. instead, my only object was to have fun, and truly enjoy the sensation of riding a motorcycle. no longer with any expectations, i was able to really relax for the first time. and because i was able to do so, i managed to do what had to be done.

ironic isn't it? i cldn't perform when my mind was focused and consciously thinking of executing the order of actions .. yet ytd when i set my heart/mind free, my body moved on its own.

i WOULD have passed first time prac 5 because i got 10 pts. but because i never listen to instruction, immediate failure liao ...

requirement stringent? i dont know .. the only mistakes i made was the timing and blindspots ..

A friend of mind did all once but he was an experience rider whose license revoked after he hit a boy at a pedestian crossing (no injury but boy's parent complain) ..... it happened just after he passed his Class 2 :(

It also depend on the instructor lah...if he good mood , he close 1 eye for small mistake if not pray hard he miss all ur mistake .

Don't kancung . Make it a habit to check blind spot . Practice make perfectlah. And last be confidence when ridinng but not over confidence:)..my 2 cents
