go to the country & stay there for 6 months...

i think would be more effective to learn foreign language if there is somebody to teach

so for me, better to learn in community centre course..

Well, i learn my japanese in polytechnic. But of cos, u muz use it everyday or else, u forgot hw to speak the language. But the best way is u mix with the person who can speak well in terms of oral communication, not in terms of written style.

Some people can speak well, but comes to written, they cant even write a word. Stay in that country is most effective way of learning, cos its the day-to-day communication. But, in the lst place, are u going to take the great effort to do it?

Learn from Community Center is ok but is best to get native teachers.. I learning my Thai in a CC and teaches by a thai teacher so I think is ok, however hard to get an opportunity to ask the teacher stuff after class. I used to learn Japanese from japanese language school, more ex though but still have the opportunity to get hold of the teachers as there's a break in between, so it depends on where u are learning..still.. remember to practise ur language..

There's a will, there's a way

no point learning it from your teacher...but your utilisation of the language is only got 1 or 2 hours per week...

i bet you...3 weeks later...you would have forgotten some of your 1st lesson...

after the course ends..you get back to speaking english/chinese...you will forget everything in no time...

even our dear PM Lee Junior forgotten how to speak russian...after learning it when he was young..
