Hey guys! I went to Moto World and chatted with the mechanic there about the rectifier problems. He said it's still best to use the stock item but add grounding cables in the engine bay and battery. This will regulate the charge and make the rectifier last longer.

He also said that doing long distance riding every now and then is also good because it gives the battery time to charge back up. He suggested going to the Tuas second link but a drive East West is also fine.

I am going to do my grounding next week. Lowest cost is $65.

Is this due to the points being grounded and who actually does it? Because if a person without knowledge or experience does it, he could have connected the wrong points and end up having it destroy the battery instead. So I think that it has to be done properly because electrical flow must be handled properly. Just my opinion

i totally agree... anything not done right will definately become a disaster....

but i have decided not to do the grounding again and instead finding other ways to improve my electrical system....

still monitoring everyday with the voltmeter....

when i see the volt runs low , i off headlights in the day , and when the volt shows that its enough , i keep my headlights on all the time.....

i know this is not the way to solve things in the long run, but it definately solves things in the short run...

cheers....

hey man the charging coil cost alot man..... about $300-$400, thats the price range , the exact price i do not know...... but charging coil veri hard to spoilt one..... its veri unlikely........ go to the motorshop to check..... they have the voltmeter there so by one rev of the throttle and you will know whether its charging a not...... if its spoilt the voltmeter will not move at all.......

well as for the batt...... i know of cheaper korea batt.... but i would not recommend it for the rvf as its not good for the electrical system....

always go for original yuhasa batt...

well.... i am not an expert here in the field as i am not a mechanic.... but if i am wrong please dun blame me yeahz..... we are all here to learn......

when to planet motor...changed new batt, new rectifier all $180...

By rev it to its fullest, the volt meter onli show 13.81V but the mechanics say 14V and above is the recommended chargin for RVF, isit true??
