The rear brake was totally not working. I could have easily met with an accident if I were taking a corner and decided to use my rear brake. Can u guys pls help ? The dumb mechanic at the shop keeps saying nothing is wrong with the power but the bike has no pick up and the power is very slow and gradual. My friend tested the bike at 180km/h but the acceleration is very slow. I think the engine is ok, could it be the CDI that is giving all the problems or anything else ? ?... Pls help.......thanks...

seem to me that u haf no fuel leh..haha..u check ur fuel a not? if fuel is full...but no power...off ur engine and start again..if can start..batt is not a problem...

 

next thing..check ur charging system..get a multimeter and check. when u rev ur bike...the volt shld increase. it shld cut somewhere between 14v and shldnt go as high as 15 or 16 volt if u rev it high. if charging fail, most likely coil or rectifier is not working.

 

lets assume ur bike no power..or took a very long time to go up to 180km/h, can i know the situation like pick up got power? above how many rpm ur power start to cum? is there a lag or delay in certain rpm?

 

if et say..in general, ur bike no power, then wash ur filter of change to a K&N filter to enable more air intake, wash ur carb and tune it. this shld increase the power a bit...

 

u state that it suddenly went 2nd gear to nuetral when u are travelling, if it is like a few months 1 time..i personally think its ok..but if it happen frequently then haf ur clutch plates check.

 

try to go top speed at 5th gear, and then change to 6 gear..can u see ur speed and rpm increase together? if u only see rpm increase but speed still the same..u haf a clutch slip..time to change clutch plate.

Hi, brother, i think its not fair to accuse anyone with out proper proof of theft, failing to check your own bike before taking out of the shop is on the ownes on each owner to check, failing to do so deems the shop unrelated to your "missing" or "stolen" parts it can lead to you being sued for deflamotory remarks. I suggest you remove your comments before you get sued, like someone else who did deflamatory remarks on sbf. Just my advice.

This fairing is the tiger eyes II. The tiger eyes III is nicer... smaller, sleeker headlights.

 

Just some info... I did a check with LTA. There is no concern with changing the TYGA fairings, BUT... they are concerned only with the headlights and taillights whether they passed the given standards...

Relax dude...i know how u feel. I bought my Rvf from a motorshop near Albert's. Situation exactly same as you. It took me alot of time and alot of $$ to get my rvf to its tiptop condition.

After a big roller-coaster ride with that shop, my bike finally got done up properly or at least 80% properly. The carbs have been washed, rectifier, chain, airfilter, plugs and engine oil changed. Rear bearings, Rear disk brake, CDI swapped with another bike they had in the shop. I saw all these being done with my own eyes so at least my mind is more at peace now. The bike now is much smoother than the first time I took it out. When I first took it out the bike had so many problems. I am a very new RVF rider and know little about the bike so I want to thank all of you guys for your advice and PMs. I didn't even know that there was a RVF community till recently. My bike sadly still moves by itself in first gear full clutch in and I have no feeling in my rear brake even though the brake pads have been changed. I think there is something wrong with the front fork too cus when i experience some uneveness or go across those white lines on the road the handle bar wobbles a little. Lots of you have advised me to let Clifford at K&T to take a look. Will be going down there tomorrow if he is free. Hope to exerience the full joy of the RVF as many of you have. Thanks again guys.
