My POP one is killing me, the crappy rearbrake lever isn't installed correctly, and its screws are in danger of falling off

hey brO wanna ask u all my RvF everytime veri cold hard to start. i ride to orchard the temp is half or 3/4 den 3-4hrs later i go back veri hard to start le veri cold. need start need keep trottle to keep engine alive.if not awhile die liao.wats the prob ? even park few hours only like that liao . and is smellin of battery smell or donno wat smell common ? everytime like got smell de.

All I can say is that it's been cold and rainy lately. As long as your bike is able to start with choke, a little bit of throttle to make it come alive -- and does not die off, can already.

If not sure, bring your bike to a *very* reputable bikeshop for a checkup. The mechs will advise you on the obvious problems (eg. carb/spark plug/tuning) and will make the necessary replacements. It's like starting anew, and down the road, your ride will service you well...until when it begins to exhibit problems, and by then usually one can sense something is wrong.

 

As for the smell, I'm guessing you're smelling something that's part of the electric components of the RVF ?? Sorry bro, gotta be there in person to smell it ah...

For a properly maintained RVF, I guess it's alrite as long as the starting sequence isn't too long and difficult.

 

The RVF does suffer from mood swings if you don't bring it out often, heheh...

thats 1 problem bring it down to bike shop.. if u ride for a distance and after 3-4 hrs u cant even crank 1 time or 2 time then sure got problem liao

might be carb problem or something else just go check loh no harm but when u go shop tell them hard to start after u off for 1-2 hrs

For tiptop condition bike, in the morning mean when u leave ur bike for more than 10 hours, 1 or 2 pust start will able start properly.

 

For normal condition bike. It's normal that in the morning u need to push start couples of time and might in need to pulling ur choke. that is normal.

but after riding and parked at the parking lot. few hours later. e.g. 4-5 hours. it should not be having the same problem where u will find it hard to crank start like in the morning.

 

Then u should ask a mechanic to check out ur bike.

 

It's not normal to have crank start problem after riding and parked for 3-5 hours and having difficulties to crank start.
