my choice is cb1kr but made-in-italy will be expensive.

still waiting, guess won't be in sillypore until 2009.

reason why we choose naked instead of sport coz of low/mid rpm torque/power.

but the new 2009 yzf-r1 cross-plane crankshaft engine seem more attractive.

torque n power at all rpm, power on demand at a twist of throttle.

beats ducati in motogp n left all others (honda , suzuki n kawasaki) behind.

can forget about cb1kr since it's going to be the same price as 2009 R1.

another option is kawasaki z1000 which cb1kr looks similar to.

Seems like major biker manufacturers are shifting their attention to the European continent, Harley is at least. And from my little reading, CB1R is also targeted at European biking scene too.

However, IMHO FZ1N has a darker edge than CB1 though the latter has a much more futuristic feel to it, though it looks slightly less muscular...or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

I still feel that bike agents here should allow us for test rides, juz like the harley agents. :)

info from Bike Magazine September issue.. they had a shootout between CB100r, FZ1N, Triumph Speed Triple and Aprillia Tuono.

I juz took info for CB1R and FZ1N

CB1R

Price - 7071pounds

Power - 114bhp

Wet Weight - 218.2kgs

Top Speed - 141.1mph ( 227km/h )

FZ1N

Price - 7115pounds

Power - 130.7bhp

Wet Weight - 215.9kgs

Top Speed - 159.3mph ( 256.3kmh )

The CB1R is priced cheaper than the FZ1N in England. I read someone from the CB1000R thread quoted $24k otr here. That price is surely hard to beat FZ1N price of $18k-$19.5k otr here.

The CB1R is also slightly heavier, slower top speed and lesser power compared to the FZ1N..

But for styling in my opinion, the CB1R wins hands down.

I would say go for the Yamaha my friend. I believe that in terms of low&mid-range torque figures, Honda still cannot beat the Yamahas in the same dept. Take the MT-01 for example,it's not built for the track or high-end speed numbers but hey, if you're going for city riding and need excellent handling, I'd go for it.

But in any case, the figures have been put forth to you- The Yamaha is more powerful, is more torquey, is lighter, and faster than the Honda.

People may claim that Hondas have higher re-sale value (only one person has said that so far) but if you keep your Yamaha in excellent condition, who's going to stop you from stating your selling price (assuming it's realistic) when you decide to give it up? And if you really look after it well, how much more can you lose in the first place?

It makes sense doesn't it? The Yamaha has my vote ;) Good luck in your decision all right?

Yes i agree with you and it makes sense. Cos so far Honda bikes in any class or series they dun produce the real potential of the bike unlike other make like Yamaha Suzuki and Kawasaki. It is true that all these bikes have more power than honda. On specs. :)

But well TS the choice is all up to you if you are eyeing for either of this. :) Just all of our views here. So dun let our views affect your choice. :) :thumb: If you are keeping it for good then you can of cos go for yamaha if you love it.

Well said Mr Grey and Bernard, at this current moment FZ has more draw on me, MHO, it carries alittle more character than the CB1. Called Hong Leong, they give 3 free servicing for new purchases. Lets see if there are any pleasant surprises for the 2009 models.

BTW, Mr Grey, you into ape hangers? Always been fascinated with it...

Hmmmm but i see CB1K on motorshow. The shape looks nice and the bike needless to say is a beast. But there is something with the headlight with i dun really like.... Especially the lower projection lamp its either you like it or you dont. My apology but i should say i find the headlamp of CB1K feels cheap. But i still love CB1K ahahaa
