I spent a lot of time to remove the sprayed silver paint with thinner, then can see the original metallic black paint.

hehehe..still black looks better on Impulse.

One of your air mixture screw on your carb was damage badly by the previous mechanic, unable to adjust the setting.

I played with the air mixture setting on my Impulse previously able to get 26km/l but very lean, and engine feels rough. At 23km/l engine feels smooth, so 23km/l should be almost right. Suggest you syn the carb, as I did not performed for byte77 after the valve clearance, its recommended to do so.

I suggest next time you tried mobil 1 10W40 for your next EO, I am using it now, gear shift and engine feels smooth after 4200km, intend to drag till 6000km then change. Prie is reasonable $18 per quart.

WAH! really?!!!! What kind of LJ mechanic is that? I suppose i have to source for used carburettor then....

You could source for a used carb, from scrap yard, since its running fine I advice you save the money.

Don't have to replace the carburettor, current one still can be used.

Open up the head light cover and bring it down to allow access to open up the indicator light cover you can refer to bandit manual if unsure.

I might have to revisit you again, to redo the wiring for the radiator fan. It's not working and i suspect the connection is loose. Such that when i lightly pull on the 2 wires, it will turn on and turn off.

Ok...let me know, I belive the connector is loose at the switch. I will get the proper connector to crimp and heat shrink

clutch cable on the impulse broke while i was riding.

oh yeah, 3rd time EMAS has to evacuate my bike off the highway.....

clutch snapped due to old age. will get the throttle cable changed as well.

This is precisely the reason why I try to change most of the things to brand new on 2nd hand bikes when I take over, so **** like this don't happen....

so how did i look? haggard? LOL.

yeah, the Impulse is a pretty rare bike, i've caught people looking at my bike during traffic lights.

but when i bring it to shops to service or fix, first thing they say is, so old keep for what?!

that's the charm though. rare, special, unique. different from the flood of s4s out there.

When I was riding the Impulse w/o the Suzuki wording on the tank, with S4 mirrors and signal lights ,many thought it was superfour and asked me what model is it. :)

Lucky you got a new set of throttle cable already when you took over the bike.

Last time ah chong told me the current cable can be used and no need to replace unless...

Got the front tyres changed to Bridgestone Battlax BT-39, and also the wheel bearing as well.

Front end felt more stable and planted.

while previously, when i let go of the handlebars and it will shake violently, with the change, it doesn't do that anymore. Great.

Also got the brake pads changed, 1 of the screws in the front caliper has been rounded off, required drilling to get it out. Nightmare. But got that fixed and changed, and now brakes feel and act better.

Now the only issue left is that my bike doesn't go back to idle fast enough when i rev it, 2 issues which could be a lean mix or the slides are not moving back fast enough in the carbs.

meeting s750wp to get it fixed soon.

Allright, just finished washing the bike.

Went to @S750WP to service the carbs today. started at 11am and ended at around 3pm.

replaced throttle cable, spark plugs and cleaned, balanced the carburettors.

throttle cable and spark plugs were straight forward business. the carbs are a real pain in the ass to remove. but we got it done and the carbs were really dirty. rusty sediments were found in the bowls so got that cleaned.

2 reasons for the rusty sediments is because the fuel tank itself is rusting, and the fuel filter is old so its not doing its job properly. will get that replaced soon.

Found out also the cause for the slow return to idle after revving was due to the springs in the diaphgram, which were a little loose already.

The balancing was real interesting to watch. Hooked everything up and found out carbs number 2 & 3 were way out of balance. got that fixed as well and now bike is smoother than before.

thanks @S750WP!
