Think the term high fender should be used instead of beak to avoid confusion with the lower fender addon or extension.

 

You might want to read up here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=447228 for a step by step guide to mount a high fender. Needs some DIY. Maybe DIY guru, Tankee can look into it.

 

What bothers me is the crossover brakeline that will be very exposed if the original lower fender is removed.

 

don't call me guru la... i'm not, actually i'm not sure if the 2 holes where the screws are place are already there on the lower triple clamp or u have to drill the hole. if u got to drill then i think is not advisable to do it, i will weaken the strenght of the lower triple clamp, which is partially respondsible for hole ur front forks!

hi guys, i need some info here, please advise.

for my vee, the readings goes as below (i take the reading directly from the batt terminal):

1st try,

12.24V - key on

12.31V - idling

12.34V - reving @ 2-3k rpm

12.34V - reving @ 5-6k rpm

 

2nd try,

same steps as above, BUT the reading drops.

After the 4th try, now the readings show somewhere from 11.8 to 11.2V!!!!

 

& i do notice that my rpm drops very fast & slow!!!

>5k when i release throttle, it drops very fast to 2.5k

@ 2.5k, it drops very slow to idiling (1.3k)

 

Mine's just a 1 day old bike =(

Anyway since urs is just a day old bike... should still be cover under warranty right?

It have side and top opening for it side case just like my current e41... another plus point for givi cases...u can even mount the side case to u top rack... hopefully the price is not on the high side... base on the pic, i dont think its an alu case ek?

Maybe just with alu plating perhaps...

v strom niggling problems are always the electricals hardwares.. sigh thought Japan excel in electrics

My bike was the 08 model , Before i start my Engine my reading was 12.46-47 volts after i start it was 14.67-14.7 volts

so far so good, the readings are more or less accurate now.

rectifier doing its job now.

thanks, my reading is more or less similiar to yours.

maybe due to our different connection pt, i connect to batt -ve & ign fuse.

Correct...Should not be tighten...just like ur triple head clamp...

your idling may be set to high.

encountered same syntoms weeks back. but mine hover 2500 rpm for a while before settling down at the 1200 idling point
