uhmp byte block!!! 1) Dun mind me asking...how are your electrics on your DL650 since its a K4? 2) Any significant deterioration? From hearsay that most suzuki after 4 years, the electrics tend to fail.

I have frens exp that his DRZ 5-6 yr old need to do full wiring. Which cost 2k plus. my only suzuki exp is a TL1000R which the electrics works fine being a 5-6yr old bike.

is it a concern? Any other v strom 650 any input?

Who was the FBC Baby silvery Blue 650 I saw at Upper Thomson? Nice Traffic Talk!!! Hope to see you OTR again.

so far the DL650 is one of the best mid range class adventure bike ever made....so far no major problems right till now...coming to 4 years already...

you can't compare a 400cc inline and a 650cc V-twin...its' so much difference..

the dl650 wll be lampost away before super four can open the other valve..

but the top speed will hit around the same mark with the DL slightly better...

with DL650 fuel consumption almost the same as the super four.....

byteblock have ridden the spec 3 before and now the DL650...he can enlighten you...

but then...good luck if u are finding a DL650 be it brand new or 2nd hand...

well brudder,my DL650,runs fine,fine,and fine.its a reliable bike,comparable maintenance to a super4.

i think ar,all these hearsays, come from people who were riding the old bandits/gn125s.and of course, scramblers vibrate like dildos and would surely cause wiring to snap off.

and i would have to say,i didn't know much about my SexFiddly before buying it.thank goodness i made an extremely lucky choice.

it has way surpassed what i was looking for in a 650.it flips in the corners (without monstrous sideboxes of course!) and really is extremely comfortable to ride.not to forget my favourite beastial grunt the engine gives off at low RPMs that i think is only beaten by the DL1k! \m/

it has brutal picukup as well.if i had a choice for another bike,it would be another DL650.

all thats left for me,is to get me a scorpion pipe and i'm all set!

good luck finding a 2nd hand one though,i believe its very hard to come by these days..

jeryd also rode super4 before swapping with the dL650..care to do some enlightening, sharktooh?

Dude, the photo you use very disturbing loi. Give people nightmare....... Anyway, whoever charge $2k to re-wire a Strom is a con-mechanic, suggest go Bike&Scooter, less than 1/2 price if not too serious case. Engine overhaul also the guy do there.............

I don't ride the DL650, but got an SV650 with the same engine. Recently got a valve clearance and tuning done, works perfect.

Have ridden over 60,000km on the SV, no damage to engine. Mine is running over 100,000km now, you guys on the DL650 need not worry about the engine as long as the engine oil is taken care of.

sharktooth is here.. :)

anyway i cun answer ur question regarding wiring cos mine is a yr old k6 and for sure no probs wif wiring watsoever..

abt transitioning frm a super 4 to a dl650... i used to ride a spec 1 b4 this and its really hard to compare since both are of a diff make.. but lets go down a typical list.. comfort wise, the strom beats hands down.. but sumhow i feel tat the s4 has an edge over the strom in terms of top end speed and holding it there.. but den again, the strom is super comfy at its cruising speed.. so u see, its a totally different category.. economy wise, the strom wins again.. 3 bottles of EO, 2 plugs and 22km/l is way better than the s4.. agility is a plus for this trailie.. it can corner and swing frm side to side wif ease altho here we cun compare wif the s4 again.. basically its a 2-1 victory over the s4 for the strom.. :D

anyway hus, regarding the light bracket, mine is a hella comet 450.. a lil longish.. tats my main worry.. the mounting pt is exactly half the length and the entire length is abt 6 3/4"..

kish_garfield: do u happen to ride an st11 before?

Singaporeans funny. Rather spend $40k buy a BMW GS rather than $20k buy the STROM DL1 and modify it. As most agree, the GS is not TWICE as good as a Strom but the price is twice more. Haha........

Hi... Is it normal if i experience occassional backfiring when i close throttle or am i in trouble?

What are the factors affecting the fuel consumptions? I think mine is on the lower side. i can only managed 13 per litre..
