Need help on insurance and transference!

ok... i muz say... i know nuts bout insurance for biking so... pardon me for asking any ridiculous questions and my english...

 

i've just passed my tp.... n i havent bought any bike yet... cuz no money...

 

my fren owns a honda sp... but he doesnt haf license... so he's lending me his bike till he gets his license....

 

the problem is... he's the sub-rider for tis sp... so how do he transfer/lend his sp to me legally...?

ok xianping, first of all congrat on passing ur tp.

ur fren is sub or main rider has got noting to do wif u...tat is HIS insurance matter. U hav to get ur own insurance. u hav to know who own the sp (the registered owner) then borrow his logcard and go and make YOUR own insurance. once u made the insurance u can ride the sp provided the OWNER agrees (cos the bike still under his name, any summons etc. will go to him). if u wan to own the sp... u have to get the OWNER to transfer ownership to u... u need the owner's IC and signature and go down to LTA to do paperwork.

beri simple onli.... go ins company... strike off ur frien's name as sub-rider and asks the owner of the bike to put u as SUB RIDER (if owner agrees). onli 50 bucks.

 

aniwae ur frien no license, put onto ins as non riding rider oso useless..

need to change the subrider name from yr friend's name to yr name for the time being

in addition to admin charges for changing of names, u need to topup a certain amount of money for the insurance premium cause u are a new/young rider

ohh...! so does tat means anybody wif an insurance (and of course a license) can ride the bike provided tat the owner agrees...?

 

den... if i go get my own insurance.... roughly how much would it be....? i'm 19...

was thinking of changing the sub rider to me... but den i feel that it is better not to disturb his ownership...

nope

now the insurance will be calculated based on the main or sub-rider, whichever is younger/less experienced.

and yes, i agree that the insurance premium for new riders is super expensive now as compared to the past

Just wanna share my experience, I bought an RXZ last week and the insurance is freking expensive!!

 

Premium loading (For under 21 yrs old and P-plates): additional $250

Total insurance: $756 under Mitsui (3rd party only)

 

In contrast, the motordiam told me that Alliance offers 3rd party for only $200 plus only 0.0

However they do not take in under-21. Sigh...
