told my bike dealer i want replace existing 35W headlamp with 20W LED headlamp. He said bike headlamp is dc and wattage of all electrical accessories already BALANCED by mfg, so if change to LOW WATTAGE headlamp means ALL OTHER electrical accessories will get HIGHER wattage output, may spoil the accessories like tail lamp bulb etc .... is this correct? need a second opinion ...

nonsense la...u can fix led head bulbs but got a few pros n cons....

cons..

before inspection u must change back to legal type as the led will not pass inspection....

pros

the led bulb definitely consume lower volt compared to the normal halogen but definitely brighter...ur using H6m or P15d -25 -1 type of bulb?coz my wife's raider is using two of this type of bulb n I got two Cree type bulb for her.....

each bulb got 2 Cree LEDs on opposite sides....so high beam for both on n low beam for jus one Cree led on..

only con is that low beam n high beam no difference due to the design of the headlamp but using jus low beam it's definitely brighter den halogen bulbs..u can refer to this carousel listing

https://sg.carousell.com/p/p15d-25-1-motorcycle-headlight-bulb-cree-led-brighter-and-better-lights-throw-than-cob-★cree-v4-led-12w-★1500-lumens-★pure-white-6500-k-★plug-and-play-★100-hi-low-beam-★in-built-aluminum-heat-sink-in-stock-76925433/

another con is its quite difficult to find Cree type of bulb for this even on eBay..

u also need to adjust headlight at night so it would point below car's rear signal area around 5 metres away...if not it will cause glare for other road users

I would recommend to install a relay accessories fuse block as it would help get rid of the flickering of the headlight

I hate white light users in sg, be it cars or bikes. Too glaring, sometimes causing temporary blindness to my eyes if accidently look straight at it.

If urs is orange light, then I am fine. Maybe can even pass inspection, haha.
