yup, mine exactly same mount as yrs. I squeezed some black silicon between the mount clamp to improve the grip on the mirror arm.

Only prob mounting to handlebar is that need to look down at it to read. That's why tt6389 mounts to his mirror.

dear bros,

I have just recently bought a gps garmin legend etrex, and its good....but then again after a few mths i drop it and so i have to sent it for a repair which is at textile center... i thought that they will have to repair it there and i will collect it in a few days but guess what they will be sending it to taiwan for the repair and i have to wait for 4 weeks for it to come back and when it did i was so relieve....

i am riding a vara125 and it a great ride for me i have to say, for those of you people out there who want to get a gps you can check out a place at sim lim square shop name perfect watches i am not sure if the price is cheap but thats one of the dealer...no regrets abt owning a gps seriously no regretrs at all... go and get it my frends...

with a gps its really usefull in all angles... coz when i went for my touring coast to coast of malaysia, thailand and outher adventure thingy i always rely on the tradional maps and subsiquently when i rains then the map will be wet but then even if you were to get a waterproof map i think it will still damaged the map as it will be water resistand and not waterproof...

its a good thing to get a gps you will never know when or where you need it....enjoy my frends...cheers to all..

Anyone has used both PDA/HP gps systems and those dedicated GPS unit like Garmin? Is there a vast difference? Especially in terms of maps, support and accuracy.

I don't really need to have the GPS staring at me when I'm riding. Will only switch it on, check where I am and the route I'm going when I'm at a suspicious looking junction. So battery power and screen size is not really a big concern.

Anyone using this GPS device? Care to share ?

Local market is selling it @ $1,790.

It seems interesting to me. Click the destination & the devise will point you way.

Using bluetooth & with voice instruction, will never bother to figure how to go from point A to point B again.

It's portable & can use for car too.

I thought of getting one .Anyone interested ? Want to get it together? Can PM me.

Can it work with conventional FOC malsing maps? Can it runs on either rechargeable or disposable AA batteries? Its got shorter battery life & not able to use disposable means you can't hand carry it when going oversea tours. Its also 4 times more expensive than my color screen GPS with expandable memory. :giddy:

Yes, Zumo can use the FOC maps from Malsingmaps. I did a setup for a friend last week. However i have problems loading the maps using mapsource, like for Legend, Vista, 60CxS. In the end, I copied the "gmspsupp.img" and dumped it in the System "Garmin" Folder. After that everything works like a dream.

I am abit concern about the touch screen, looking at the condition of my PDA.

it depends on your budget & your needs.

You want to use in cars & bikes? If use on bikes, it needs to be water resistant.

You want it small enough to slip into your pocket when you travel oversea?

You want it to be battery power or using rechargeable? If use very often, rechargeable is better. But use occasionally, battery power is better.

You want to be able to download FOC maps worldwide or just use for Spore Malaysia? Garmin type can get free maps, PDA GPS using Windows Mobile O/S can also use garmin maps. Non-garmin type is limited.

You want voice prompting & auto-routing?

You want expandable memory?

Price range from $400 plus to thousand plus , for models with color screen & auto routing & expandable memory.

If you already owns a PDA, you could also buy a bluetooth GPS sensor for about $200, comes with free map of either Spore or Malaysia . You could basically keep the PDA in your pocket or rear box. Wear a bluetooth earpiece, which will prompts you to turn left/right & guides you to your detination. This is useful for car/bike .

If you dun own a PDA , starhub got pretty good offer with PDA phones now.
