Guyz..

Where can I get a reliable waterproof iPhone holder for bikes. I'm riding Silverwing..

Buy from them, using , my 3rd casing from them since Iphone 3G

http://www.thinkbiologic.com/

There are many aftermarket OEM wana_Be, tried them before... for Iphone, nothing beats biologic. It just take 3 days to reach you.

To Me....

1) Is it tru that gps gadget don't require wifi and data subscription plans to do the maps navigation? Yes, it is true. It depends on GPS signals only.

(its totally on gps signals)

2)anybody here uses Garmin Nuvi 2495 for their bikes? Can share is it a wise choice? Unsure.

3) can share too how u fix ur gps to ur bikes in a way whereby user can juz

pull it out upon parking the bike? Take a look at the Zumo 600 series. It's a wise choice to own one.

You can use your smart phone for GPS,

Firmftware: Sygic (there is free version, just google)

Hardware:

1. Ram mount X grip for smart phone and the necessary ram accessories apprx $100

2. waterproof case, i.e Lifeproof, Seido, Aquabox etc. $60-90

All these should be within $200 range.

Using Sony Xperia Z2 with Sygic for GPS, the phone is waterproof and the screen is sunlight readable. I can pair with my uclear bluetooth receiver to listen to instructions. Thers is glove mode which I can touch screen when wearing my gloves. Ifs almost a phone design for riders.

I've got an LG G Watch and I use the voice command to navigate myself when I'm at junctions.

"Okay Google, Navigate to ____" works most of the time :)

Technology really helps improve our biking experience nowadays.

How long can Z2 last with sygic? 5-6 hours? Thanks.

Have not tried navigating for so long, but the phone battery capacity 3200mah is the biggest available in the market for 5.2" smart phone, I recharge every 1.5 days under heavy usage of video streaming (4-5 hours of drama), web surfing etc.

I have tried Garmins Nuvi in Aqua boxes, Zumos and the now popular Montana.

Nuvi - Cheap but cannot read well and difficult to operate with gloves.

Zumo - Almost all there but sound quality is poor (mono)

Montana - Can take with you and works on Android.

BUT ALL THE ABOVE does not take calls directly.

Sony Xperia Z paired to my bluetooth (MIC) headset- Is my choice. On RAM mounts.

I use downloaded maps (not google and waze) like Sygic and am trying 'Here' developed by Nokia.

Voice activated dialing and reads text to Voice message, so if from Big Boss, I can stop and text back, as though I am in the office.
