Find out that, actually some items have two pricing. For example.

RAM-B-201U and RAM-B-201, refering to the same item, RAM DOUBLE SOCKET ARM FOR 1" BALL

But the price for RAM-B-201U is USD$12.65, weight 0.31 lbs

The price for RAM-B-201 is USD$14.80, weight 0.36 lbs

The only different is

The "U" in the part number reflects product packaged in poly bag.

its a bit more work to post the way points of the route going there. If yr gps got auto-routing function, it should automatically generate the shortest route to the waterfall. There are 2 waterfall on pulai mountain. The last trip i posted was the smaller waterfall, along the way got lots of durian farm. The taller & more spectacular one is about 15 min ride away via another road.

Anyway tomorrow at 12pm GP esso, i meeting Ones_co and we going to find the famous Pontian Wanton mee in pontian town, follow by the Pontian durian farm. After that we going Kukup, then go to Mandai forest where there is hundreds of abandoned durian trees.

a. Can mount the eTrax series via a bicycle-mount rather than RAM mount?

 

b. Can I power the unit with power from my bike than the unit's battery?

Bro, i am using etrex and currently i am using the basic mount and thats i believed to be the bicycle mount and not the RAM mount that some of the boys here have done a mass order..and as for power i don't think there is an external socket for you to insert the adapter but personally, using battery is good enough for me and if no power get a new battery and thats it but if you have both it would be better one will be back up..

Surely you can. As long as you can find a bar of a correct dimension to secure the mount.

 

I'm using a flat aluminium bar, and secure the GPS with 3M Dual Lock Velcro.

 

 

b. Can I power the unit with power from my bike

 

Not a problem but you would need to convert your bike 12vdc to suit your GPS power input requirement.

 

My GPS needs 5vdc. So I installed a universal ciggy lighter type of power socket to my dashboard, and a power adapter plug costs $9 from which the GPS draws it's power.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Can the GPS be powered by a USB source? such that if I have one of those cigarette lighter plugs cum USB female, I power the unit via the USB cable?
