Anyone keen to share waypoints / POI or others that you have recorded through all the touring trips. Perhaps can built a data base for all to share. Currently using a Garmin (Non-mapping) one, have various waypoints saved in MAS & THA.

Hey fellow riders,

I am from the Vara forum. With regards to your GPS, I purchased a GARMIN ZUMO 550 for S$1590/- It only came with a Sin & Mal map. Not too bad. It is for a motorcycle and touch screen. Check out the Garmin website to see what I mean.

I had also recently purchased a Thai (in english format) from a shop in malaysia. Cost me quite a buck (S$150 - with a 512 mb SD card) , I had like ordered in the morning and paid online and like voila! the next morning, I got it. Shipping was like additional S$10. Here is the link to that shop.

Super friendly and efficient. I would be riding up to Krabi come mid december and I bet this map is sure gonna come in Handy... Kudos to those who ride out and out ride.. :thumb: :thumb:

Woof !! Woof !!

maybe we should organise a gps biker get-together...

~ share lobangs on where to buy what n what

~ share ideas on how to mod/DIY or fix ram mounts for holders

~ try out different gps navigation software

~ share waypoints and poi

any takers?

i'm using a pda phone (ETEN 600) with an external gps receiver. tried and loved the tomtom navigator 6 but it has no updated map for sinkapor and no maps for malaxia and tailan. mapking got more updated maps but the user interface and functionality no fight with tomtom. or maybe i haven't really master how to use it .

may all be well and happy

Well, I guess there is only so much that they can display on the website, try emailing him. I got my Tahi may like that. Paid today, got it the very next morning. Its pretty nifty.

Demon > The Zumo 450 would be more practical than the 550 if used in Spore, Malaysia and Thailand?

Zumo 550 is identical to 450 except that it has more fancy features like Bluetooth, and "Speaks street names"

You can only enjoy all features of the Zumo 550 only when in USA because XM Navtraffics is not available elsewhere.

As to your question, practically there is no difference but I have yet to find a shop selling Zumo 450 in Singapore.

In the hands of a skilled user, any GPS will do. If you give that "doggy" a top of the range GPS used by the SEAL teams, he will still get lost
